3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 blankboy (5153) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 16, 2009
Draught at the brewpub. Pours a dark ruby, brown, with an average size lasting creamy tan head. Decent lacing.
Aroma: whoa, lots of raspberry! Some roastiness and chocolate but mainly raspberries. Flavour: Lots of raspberry again, a bit tart as well, along with roasted malt and a hint of coffee. A bit watery for a Stout. Average bodied. Different that’s for sure. Good though.

1.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 DYCSoccer17 (3014) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 14, 2009
10 ounce sample at the brewpub. Aroma has over the top artificial raspberry notes. It’s pleasant enough, but I do not detect any stout qualities in the aroma. Mildly transparent deep mahogany body with a small off-white head. Wow--just vile. VILE. Sour astringent pukey raspberry flavor dominates this liquid concoction. Finishes with a little chocolate, but goddamn. This is terrible. How can they sleep at night knowing they charge people money for this shit? DISASTEROUS!

On tap at the brewpub. Appearance: Pitch black, small tan head. Aroma: Chocolate, raspberry, malt and cream. Flavour: Sour as hell! Lots of fresh raspberries, tart, hoppy, so interesting, lots of carbonation, looks like a porter and drinks like a sour. Nice.

Nose is raspberry syrup or maybe raspberry pie. Flavor is raspberry syrup and, well... not much else. A bit of roast comes out towards the finish. Nice creamy body.

I believe this was a Raspberry Stout, and I believe my girlfriend decided on a pint of this beer with our lunch. I apparently liked it as well.
