jerc (3056), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 19, 2008 2008-05-17. Lightly hazy pastel yellow body with a tiny white head. Big candyish cherry aroma like maraschino cherries? Minute underlying grainy wheat notes. Sweet artificial seeming cherry in the flavour, with a good does of the same bitterness as the blueberry, but stronger and with more of an astringent quality - do not care for it. Average to thin palate. I don’t love cherries to start with and this did not offer much to change my opinion. Meh. Sampler at the brewpub.
blipp (599), Grand Island, New York, USA Jun 6, 2008 Pours hazy yellow with a beige head. Smells and tastes like marichino cherries, although the flavor is a bit lighter than the aroma, and also has a light wheaty or grainy taste to it. Drinkable, but pretty one dimensional. Appearance :Unfiltered, lightly hazed brew . Medium bright top. Surprisingly you will actually find real cherry in your glass .3+ Nose :Sweet , fruity nose , sugar dipped cherry like with slight hint of mint.
Flavour/Palate : Light in character but not thin. Somewhat sweet cherry a la Kompot. Little tartness with cherry candy. Clean, smooth finish but this is not something I would drink more than once.
rudolf (1543), Buffalo, New York, USA Sep 12, 2007 Very cloudy gold, almost amber. Thin white head. Nose is maraschino cherry, cherry 7-up, faint yeast. Flavor is more maraschino, pils/wheat malts, a bit of yeast. Some yeasty orange notes in the finish. Prickly carbonation.
