mabel (1633), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 6, 2008 [1344-20080517] Tap. Yeasty fruit bread aroma. Clear, amber body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Yeasty beer bread flavour has a sweet fruity berry-like trait. Medium body is grainy. Interesting -- maybe not a wreck itself but it certainly has a funny history.
(@ Pearl Street; Buffalo, NY) jerc (3114), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 19, 2008 2008-05-17. Amber-copper body with a small off-white or beige head. Sweet aroma, notes of caramel malt. Similar caramel notes in the flavour have been negated by a rough follow up, lightly astringent and a note of either weird yeast or possibly diacetyl. Average palate. Meh. Sampler at the brewpub. blipp (724), Grand Island, New York, USA Dec 29, 2007 On tap at Pearl St. Brewery. Appearance: Dark amber with off white head. Aroma: Pretty sweet, some nutty malt. Chestnut maybe? Palate: Medium, a little tingly. Flavor: Chestnut, hazelnut, some floral hops. Overall: Well balenced, easy to drink. I enjoyed this one. BillKismet (1410), Seattle, Washington, USA Dec 28, 2007 Scotch barrel color with root beer float head. Musty mix of malt and hops giving a slightly oxidized quality. Mild malt and mildewiness in flavor. An easy drinking, well-balanced alt. Radek Kliber (3314), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 5, 2007 On Tap at Brewpub
Appearance :Clear amber with shown carbonation, medium, creamy top. Nose :
Aroma of honey with strong hazelnut character, clean aromatic nose 7-. Flavour/Palate : Slightly oily, nutty with golden malt below. Middle more bitter with woody accents. True alt like. Perhaps alcohol sits a bit too high. Finish was lighter and cleaner than front.
