This is relatively inoffensive stuff because it is so thin and insubstantial. Reminds me most of Coors in its bright but anemic taste and body profile...probably best swigged on a hot day.

The ’other’ beer of Texas. Unlike Lone Star, tastes just as bad when in Texas.

’He drank Pearl in a can and jack Daniels black, chewed tobacco from a mail pouch sack’
David Allen Coe sang that so I bought some, a watery coors/bud smooth beer, not bad cold. Some of the cheapest beer I’ve ever bought.

I once saw a homeless man on the street pouring this stuff out. My grandmother used to drink it when I was young, that is when I thought all beers were created equal. Then, once I started drinking beer, I realized why my grandmother drank it and not my grandfather. This beer, as well as Lone Star are two reasons why I would like to live in a microbrew state like Washington or Oregon. This beer is a testament to how bad the beer in this state is.

Another American Standard... Bleh. Better than Bud and Miller and the gang, but not by that much.

One of the standbys when I was in Texas. Great for the college crowd, but most of us went with the Lone Star. Thursday afternoons with Pearl, nachos and the pinball machine.
