David Allen Coe sang that so I bought some, a watery coors/bud smooth beer, not bad cold. Some of the cheapest beer I’ve ever bought.

(can - 12 oz - The Esquire - San Antonio, TX) Pale gold pour with a soapy white head. Generic beer aroma with some light corn and grass. Flavor is mild corn, grass and can taste. Watery but refreshing when in a hot climate.

This is definitely better than water, because there is a small flavor of pale ale in the palate. After that, it is all water. What’s not to like? (actually, what’s to like?)

Sweet can. Good all icy cold. Woman beside me asked sincerely: "is this beer or water?" Answer: yes.
1.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 JoeAgain (66) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 17, 2010
Poor, poor Pearl. A beer that I very much enjoyed while in Texas in the mid-seventies, reduced to a name brand sans a real Pearl brewery, with nary a resemblence to its former self.
Pours very light, with a small head, and pretty fizzy. Looks, and somewhat smells, like a cream soda. Very light on the palate, thin and watery. Fizz and some cereal grain flavor, with very little in the way of hops.
I’m almost sorry I even tried this beer, again. I would have preferred remembering it as it once was.

In the can at Taste of Texas in San Antonio. Pours pale yellow with a fizzy white head. Vegetal marmite corn pone aroma. This as water and far less refreshing. Is this beer slowly dissolving its can? So metallic that it seems so.

NOTE: I bought this 12 pack of 12 oz. cans in Beaumont, Tx. Pearl beer is not sold in Louisiana. Pearl has a thick, white head, and very clear and bubbly golden appearance, and a faint aroma. The taste, while mild, has a roasted aspect, which prevents it from being bland. Mouth-feel is light and watery. Pearl finishes crisp and satisfying. Overall, this is a good beer and I recommend a sample, if it can be found.

Picked up a 12 pack of cans while in Texas to bring up and drink cheap with a buddy. Pretty much your typical cheap beer. The aroma struck me as particularly like pot-roast... can’t put my finger on it. Flavor is typical American lager with a daaash of maltiness.

this is supposedly an old Texas beer but apparently is brewed by Miller now. Not really surprising. there isn’t much to this one. kind of watery not carbonated much.
wouldn’t buy again
