2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
0.33 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Golden color. Sweet aroma with some herbal-peppery hops. Sweetish honeyish taste with restrained herbal-peppery hops and medium bitterness. Light bodied. Maltiness is weak, feels like a fizzy yellow drink.

Small bottle. Golden body, minimal head. Grainy and metallic aroma. They may have used soft spring water but the beer uses papery hops and the taste has something metallic in it too. A story of wasted potential.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
330ml brown bottle from an Italian stall in the Market Hall at Nancy. Whiff of stale hops. Dry. Thin. Cereal malt. There’s little to like about this. Probably best drunk ice cold and very quickly. It was quite cheap, and it tastes it.

330ml bottle (Trattoria Il Gallo Nero). Pale golden color, no head flat. Papery, malty aroma. Papery, malty in flavor. Very typical pale lager. No character.

330ml bottle (Il Gallo Nero, Tallinn)
Pale gold. Papery aroma. Crisp palate. Drying papery body. Fullish flavour, but it’s still just a light lager with not-necessarily-good quirks. What’s the ’granturco’ in the ingredients? Drinkable but boring.

Bottled 330ml (COOP?, BB 09/2013)
This is Pedavena version. Golden color, small white head. Buttery, harsh, grassy aroma. Light-bodied. Very little to tell about: faint sweet maltyness, some corn-like notes (DMS). Bud with better body.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a typically carbonated slightly hazy dark golden brown colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was musty and malt hop. The semi-flat mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The soft flavor contained notes of floral hops and malt. Not one that I would buy again.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20

The positive - this is my 3800th rating! WooHoo! The negative - every single thing about this beer. I mean, how does a 4.9% beer taste boozy and sweet?

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Birra Dolomiti Pils has a very thick, white head and a clear, golden appearance, with lots of streaming bubbles and a good amount of lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of light and sweet barley malt. One tastes lightly-toasted barley malt, sweet bread, a touch of hop bitterness at the end, and just a dash of lemon. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Birra Dolomiti Pils finishes crisp, clean, and refreshing. Drinkability is exceptional. Overall, this is a very good beer, and I recommend it. RJT
