COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here at PBC we produce a ‘Classic Hefe-Weizen’ in the true Bavarian style. A light, cloudy, golden hue and thick frothy, foamy head tells of a very special yeast strain used to produce this bier. In true German style we use a specific yeast strain, delbruckii. While fermenting, the yeast itself is responsible for the flavors of banana & clove which makes this one of the most unique biers of the world. Peter has been brewing this recipe for many years and has collected more than a half of a dozen medals, do not pass up the experience of this lovely libation. A nose of crtrus, and cloves with a touch of banana. Pours a hazy yellow with a monster mostly diminishing white head and sticky lacing. The taste is slightly sweet up front - fruity, yeasty, cloves - turning to a light grainy finish and aftertaste. Medium-light body with mild carbonation. Oveall, while ok, I like more banana taste in my hefeweizens than this one provided. The taste was all up front and then rapidly vanished.

I didn’t intentionally order this. An accident of our lackluster waitress, I tried to make the most of it and review the beer... Because I otherwise wouldn’t knowingly spend the money on my least favorite beer style from a mediocre brewer. Pale, cloudy yellow in color with a weak white head and plentiful, but slow-rising carbonation, his Hefe actually doesn’t smell that bad. It’s somewhat sweet with a good mix of spice, wheat and banana. Unfortunately, it still makes me nauseous once I drink it, as most Hefes do. The carbonation exacerbates the nausea. As hard as I’m trying to pay attention to the flavor, I do pull out some soft grainy sweetness. The flavor really ain’t bad. It’s just too bad its a Hefe. Overall, not bad if you like wheat beers. Traditional and inoffensive. Nice spice element in the finish. Just way too carbonated.

16oz draft 3/28/13 (Austin)-Pours goldenish yellow with small head. Aroma wheat, banana, and coriander. Taste the same but all flavors a little too much on the front end. This light bodied brew is not bad but a little weak.

Cloudy yellow. Thick, lacey white head. Grainy wheat aroma. Fizzy and sharp on the palate. Bland and sweet wheat malt taste masked by the cold temp and sharpness of the bite. The first Simonton was better than those that follow. Good gone bad.
