COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep, dark color - hints of chocolate and coffee on the nose, and a full, rich satisfying long finish, make this the perfect beer for hearty dishes; stews; chilis, wild game gumbo and other full flavored, hearty dishes. It is made with the four classic ingredients: barley, American hops, yeast, and pure Texas Hill Country water. It is a celebration of beer the way it was made 100 years ago.

Somewhat bland taste. The medium body and the smokey finish is what saves it.

Light-bodied and drinkable but with some dark roasty coffee notes in the finish to liven things up.

Chocolatey color and a bit cloudy. Small wisp of tan fizz forms on the surface.

Smells like corn and cheap, shitty malts. Equally bland and unimpressive on the palate. Swing and a miss. Unfortunately, this is about what I expect from most Texas breweries these days. :/

Bottle 12fl.oz.

[ As Pedernales Lobo Negro ].
Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dusty malt, light chocolate malt. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, dusty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140118]

Narnad (1463) - Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA - FEB 5, 2014
Pours a deep brown with a low, off-white head that quickly fades down to nothing. Aroma has a bit of brown malt nuttiness, light roast kick late in the nose. Flavor is a melded toasted brown and light dark roast toasted with light chocolate in the finish. Body is light and has a low fizzy feeling. Overall not a bad basic brew as everything is very mellow in flavor.

Bottle. A creamy, beige head sits on top of a clear, dark amber to brown body. Roasted malts, toffee and some coffee in the aroma, pretty boring. The flavor has some sweetness, with nuts, toffee and roasted malts, and some coffee hints. Medium body, semi-dry and with a decent carbonation level. Roasted, coffee-ish finish. A beer that starts off pretty boring, but turns out to be quite nice anyway. 140118
