Growler from Eric - thanks! Swingtop growler blew its shit when I popped it. Had a street full of foam and a pant leg full of beer. Pours a dark brown with reddish highlights. Huge foam head. Nice light sweetness in this, balances out the roast very well.

(9/23/13) Pours, from a 6 day old growler, a very light, clear cola with a half finger of loose, light khaki head.
The nose is quite splendid. The name absolutely fits this brew because the nose is medium roast coffee with notes of sugar and cream. Itís shockingly spot on. Aside from the hint of chocolately malt, this totally smells like iced coffee.
The taste is not nearly as complex as the nose - mostly a black coffee roastyness. Thereís a decent malty sweetness and breadyness, and even quite a bit of hops coming through (for a porter).
The mouthfeel is quite thin, bordering on being watery. I like porters to be silky. Carbonation was on the low side.
Again, the nose was fantastic on this brew - simply wonderful. This is definitely a solid porter, but not in the upper ranks. Itís better than a number of porters out there, but the lack of complexity in the taste and the thin mouthfeel kept it average. However, I canít be too harsh because I am sure a growler is not the perfect medium from which to imbibe.

a decent porter whoís name fits it perfectly, with lots of coffee notes, some mild earthy cocoa in there too, a milk of milk stout creaminess on the palate. very nice, albeit a bit syrupy to drink a lot of.

Dark brown pour, tan head. Kick ass coffee flavor, roasted malt, some light prune flavors, hints of dark chocolate. Smooth and bold for such a low ABV!

Growler shared by a friend. Dark brown in color with a medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, cream and chocolate. Flavor is the same, with coffee, cream and chocolate before a bitter coffee finish. Very nice!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample from growler at Beer Savantís 50th birthday bash. Pours a hazy dark brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee and malt. Light-bodied with a sweet roasty character and flavors of coffee, malt and lactose. The finish is sweet with a roast coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Tap at Pegs. It pours opaque, very dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is earth, roast, milk chocolate, lactose, coffee, and nut. The taste is cocoa, light roast, toast, milk chocolate, lactose, earth, light bitterness, coffee grinds and earth with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good balance, thankfully not too sweet. Very drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A clear dark brown porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, fresh coffee grinds with milk chocolate with a dash of sugar. In mouth, a smooth chocolate and coffee with light vanilla, creamy moothfeel, well done.
