On tap, RBWG 2010. Pours a hazy yellow body with a small fizzy white head. Acidic funky nose with some rotting fruit and an off-putting spoiled wheat note. The flavor is sour and tart with some creamed corn and lots of lactic acid. I’m getting a weird spoiled celery/vegetal note on the finish. Mouthfeel is fuller and stickier than it ought to be. Surprised to see all the good ratings for this one. I thought it was pretty awful, and I like Berliner Weiss.

On tap at the brewpub. Cloudy pale gold with a thick white head that settles fast. Fruity aroma that has a big vinegar scent. Very tart. This would be sublime on a hot day served in a bowl. Apple cider vinegar flavor. Perfect to the style. A dash of syrup would work good in this.

Sampled from a growler and had on tap. RBWG 2010. What a delicious and really drinkable bw. A bit overly sour but still nice and quenching. Clear bright yellow golden color. Aroma is sour, tart, lemon and other citrus. Taste is sour, peachy, lemon and sour patch kids. Acidic and tart, lively body and finishes clean.

Doug says it’s briny, but I disagree. Just tell him it is and see what his reaction is... Thanks to Doug for the sample. Pours yellow with a white head. Nose is tart lemon, citrus, grain, and a bit of brine. Flavor is refreshing citrus, grain, lemon, zest, and sour/ ALMOST vinegary flavor. Again, for the style, it is uncanny. I could drink this all night. Very enjoyable and a kudos to Doug.

Growler at the Rav Pig for RBWG 2010. The flavor is mainly super sour but also with a big dose of cream corn/vegetal that I wasn’t a huge fan of.

sampled from a growler at Cigar City, pours thin yellow. Strong funky nose of rubber lemon and more funk. Super tart with citrus and vinegar notes. So strong for such a low alcohol beer.

Growler. Pours a pale golden body with white head. Light and refreshing with a mild lemon sourness. A woody mouth feel with a nutty backbone that softens the citrus. Soft prickly carbonation and no warming to speak of. A nice Berliner.
