Not infected! Roasty, smokey, tons of dark chocolate. Mouthfeel doesn't hit like the other Peg's stouts. Still excellent!

Pours pitch black with a medium mocha head. Aroma has lots of dark roastiness, some burnt.notes, toasted coconut, and mild booziness...just a touch of oak. Flavor is very bold and roasty with just a touch of dark fruit, toasted coco ut, dark chocolate, and mild vanilla and whiskey notes. Mouthfeel is medium/full and creamy and finishes with whiskey/toasted coconut lingering to dry ver dark chocolate.

Growler fill. Damn. We did get an infected batch. Traded handsomely for it too before the infection was fully known. Oh well. Smell is definately drowned out by some wierd burnt/metal/sour thing going on with some distant barrel aged qualities. Taste was sour berries, vinegar, hints of bourbon, chocolate. Infection or whatever really takes over. Actually it wasn’t horrible, but not what I was expecting obviously. This rating is not mean, but honest. Hopefully the brewery can make good on this one.

Growler shared much thanks to Dmac. Pours out black with a small tan head. Aroma is of brownie mix roast and light vinegar?! Palate is smooth and creamy, taste is initial brownie mix, light roast, molasses, and then some odd vegetal/ acetone flavors come in, possibly from the infected batch....

Growler shared at Natifest ’13. Poured a clear dark brown color with a minimal frothy brown head that mostly diminished with minimal lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted dark chocolate, wood and alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy sweet wood and dark malt flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a solid beer.

Growler shared with timfoolery. Heard this was a bad bottle, so I’ll most likely re rate in the future. Had some really good flavors goin on but something seemed off.
