Sweet chocolately and molasses nose, light chalk. Taste is moderately sweety, lots of toffee and molasses, light coffee, some cookie dough.

Pegs rare dos. 22oz bottle, forced filled with co2, from a recent trade... Pours a darker shade of imperial stouty black with lighter reddish edges and a nice thin to medium tannish head... Barrel forward very much occupied by the bourbon with coconut, vanilla, and standard imperial stout notes. Still solid... Assertive on the barrel-front yet meshes well a deep chocolate and fudge flavor with some roast surfacing and providing a nice counter-balance. Body is a touch thin but manageble with a light fluffiness. Pretty well-balanced overall and a solid barrel-aged imperial stout that is worth seeking out again. 8/4/8/4/16

Rich black color pour with a foamy head. Aroma of dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, toffee, roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is sweet and bourbony, with chocolate, molasses and vanilla. Really good stuff!

22 oz bottle shipped up by Greg! Thanks! Pours a nice pitchblack opaque pour, dark and ominous, a small tannish head dies to a film. Aromas present a rich roast and deeper cocoa, big coconut, vanilla, some light booziness, roasty coffee. Initial is thinner, with a warming boost, coconut and vanilla meld with roasty malts and sweeter cocoa. A sweeter beer overall, some bittering cocoa. Rich coconut and vanilla tannins, rich lingering roast and coffee, a touch acrid. Moving into sweet toffee, rich cocoa and vanilla, lingering roasty coffee. Spirit and barrel fall behind a bit more, letting the base stout show some colors. Tasty, rich, roasty with touches of oaky spirit, vanilla, coconut, and sweet malts. Finish lingers. Quite nice, balanced and the barrel flavors peek through at the right times. Roasty and toasty but with sweetness flooding in behind. Mmmmmm. I haven’t had much from Pegs, but this is a winner and they seem to be making some great beer down there. The bottle did the beer justice!

12/7/10. Pumped straight from the keg at the brewpub very kindly by Christina! Niiice black pour with a small brown head that laces a ton. Huuuuge BA aroma on this cat! Tons of vanilla, coconut, butter, and more with a definite whiskey burn. Sweet imperial stout flavor loaded with BA coconut, vanilla, and more. Finishes with nice roasted coffee and dusty dark chocolate... Quite delicious!

10.01.2010@ Pegs Cantina. Black color with fleeting tan foam. Big dry wood, dark chocolate, deep roast malt aromas. Rich, smooth mouthfeel. Very good dry wood, dusty dark roast malt flavors with some sugary sweetness to balance- and yes i did taste some rareness in here as well...fucking Florida homers

Thanks to daknole. Bottle pours deep brown/black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, salted meat, and roast malt. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of molasses, oak, and maybe a touch of smoke. Overall body is full, viscous, and sweet with a nice roasted bitterness. Mmmm.

bottle courtesy of 50belair. thanks pal. pours black with small ochre head. massive, nutty and sweet aroma of lactose, cocoa, bourbon, licorice, and molasses. big caramel and toffee as well. flavor of huge sweet bourbon, massive chocolate and caramel, toffee with walnuts, and tons of vanilla and cream. this is an excellent bb stout. the bourbon aspect may be just a hair overwhelming (with some big heat in the end as well), but doesnt detract or mask the many other qualities of this brew. awesome and decadent...a dessert...
