4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Black beer with a brown lacing.
Aroma is awesome, reminds me of the KBS: cream, vanilla, dessert, chocolate, rum and raisin. One awesome aroma!
Flavours of vanilla, cream, earth, roast, chocolate, wood, light coffee.
Aftertaste is vanilla, wood, chocolate and earth.
Low carbo, silky mouthfeel, full body and an oily texture.
Lovely beer! Yum!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
THX! for the sample of this gorgeous rarity. This originated from one of the growlers that Mikkeller & To Øl @ Borefts 2013. I didn’t get it from the stand, I managed to get RareR there but missed this one. I have heard from pretty much everyone who has ever gotten hold of this one that their growler was infected & this was no exception. It didn’t taste terrible or anything but this was clearly not what it should have been. I have absolutely no idea how this beer managed to get its reputation. Huge local pushing? Or is it mind-blowing at the source? Black with a mocha head. Smells lactic (yeah) with bourbon, vanilla, sweet, chocolate, caramel, coffee,… Lastic taste, high carb & a bit thin body but still very enjoyable with its notes of vanilla, molasses, caramel, touch coconut, sweet caramel, coffee, faint roast, light warming spirit. Flat, spirit. It must be noted that even despite its condition this was till very enjoyable. Luckily the RareR was in good condition.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Flip top growler thanks to Cleg
Unfortunately this was one of the infected ones. Pours black with a small tan head and good lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and soy sauce. Flavor of dark malts, soy sauce and bitter
I was looking forward to trying and sharing this, disappointed. Hope to be able to try it again.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle thanks to Craig. Unfortunately this was infected. Pours a jet black color with a medium white head. A light roasted malt and barrel nose, sourness pushing in. The flavor is dominated by sour ashy malts, not acidic, but the dominant sourness ruins the flavors. Some barrel shining through. Not good. I’ll happily re-rate.

Not infected! Roasty, smokey, tons of dark chocolate. Mouthfeel doesn't hit like the other Peg's stouts. Still excellent!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Growler fill. Damn. We did get an infected batch. Traded handsomely for it too before the infection was fully known. Oh well. Smell is definately drowned out by some wierd burnt/metal/sour thing going on with some distant barrel aged qualities. Taste was sour berries, vinegar, hints of bourbon, chocolate. Infection or whatever really takes over. Actually it wasn’t horrible, but not what I was expecting obviously. This rating is not mean, but honest. Hopefully the brewery can make good on this one.
