Black body, khaki head, motor oil consistency. Roasted dark malt, sour cherry nose. Malty, boozy & tart. Infected. Damn shame.

Flip top bottle shared by ? Pours dark brown to black with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, some barrel notes, but not overpowering. Pretty much what I would expect in a solid imperial stout. As I drank more, a bit of a tart character began to sneak in so I guess we had one of the infected bottles or at least one that was beginning to go. I thought it was still pretty good.

Growler thanks to artmcd8. Poured black with quite dark brown head. Strong roasted vanilla boozy barrel aroma. Light carbonation with med body. Smokey dry bitter choc taste with whisky finish. Pretty good but not for the trouble to acquire.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2015 Bottle at FoCo Stout Tasting 2013, courtesy of Armin. Thanks man! Pour is deep brown with a small tan head that quickly dissipated. Tangy, fruity, pears, green apples, raspberries, cocoa, and sour aroma. Taste is dark fruits, licorice, tangy, tannic, apples, pears, and blackberry with a medium sour finish. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Really a tragedy - another infected mess. 2.4 UPDATE: Bottle at home with my wife. Pitch black pour with a big brown head and sticky lacing. Rich milk chocolate in the aroma - light vanilla, graham crackers, light whiskey, toffee and raisins. Taste is big coconut, roasted caramel, cocoa, some vanilla, prunes, light wood, bourbon and pie crust with a roasted bitterness on the backend. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Much more of what I expected and glad I got another shot at this one.

Growler @ Armin’s palace, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks! Pours a black appearance with a thin dark head. Dark chocolate, anise, raisin, a bit fruity aroma. Tangy raspberry, vinous fruity, vanilla, dark chocolate, a bit boozy flavor. This is one of the infected growlers, unfortunately. Not horrendous.

Bottle@Borefts’13: Black beer with a brown lacing. Aroma is awesome, reminds me of the KBS: cream, vanilla, dessert, chocolate, rum and raisin. One awesome aroma! Flavours of vanilla, cream, earth, roast, chocolate, wood, light coffee. Aftertaste is vanilla, wood, chocolate and earth. Low carbo, silky mouthfeel, full body and an oily texture. Lovely beer! Yum!
