Very dark brown. The aroma is very chocolatey, malted milk. The body is slightly thinner than the Rarer DOS, but with nice chocolate notes. Lots of full malty character. Decent, balance but not as stylish or intense as the Rarer.

Handbottle… This beer rocks!…Pours dark brown with a very small, creamy, khaki head that is gone in a flash. The aroma provides dark chocolate, coconut, graham cracker and sourmash whiskey with a suggestion of blueberry. Very "tropical." It’s almost as if this was aged in a coconut shell. I can’t explain why. Full-bodied and velvety with modest carbonation. The flavor and finish are quite burnt, boozy and bitter with a kiss of coconut. Thanks to the always-generous Maltzilla for sharing this rare handbottle!

LCBS 2010, on draft!! Pours a black color with a nice brown head. Rich and sweet aroma. Chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, toffee, light coffee. Flavor is sweet, rich in bourbon and chocolate, vanilla, coconut. Damn good. Reminds me a ton of this years Older Visc.

Courtesy of Blazer06. Pours dark mahogany with thin tan head. The aroma is bold smooth sweet bourbon and vanilla along with some spicy oak, and booziness at the end of the draw. Nice rich sweet bourbony nose but not much beeriness offered up. The taste is smooth rich vanilla and bourbon. The booze grows brasher to midway where faint to modest notes of dark roasted malts, chocolate and sweet nuttiness are notice underneath the crushing bourbony sweet onslaught. Smooth tasty brew.

Tap at Peg’s Cantina. Near ink pour with rich, reverse cascade mocha head. Not too much lace. Nose is tawny, black pepper, bourbon richness, melted fudge. Taste is quite rich and on style- buttery bourbon, melted dark chocolate fudge, vanilla. Spicy wood finish. A bit dry through the end. Still, quite delicious. Really like the palate on this one. Doesn’t really improve as it warms.
