Rich chocolate fudge brownies with coconut. A bit on the boozy side and very hot. Sludgelike thickness. It is extremely tasty, but also hard to drink in any meaningful quantity and taxing on the palate. Still a damn good BA Stout, one of the best I’ve tried.

Growler at Coppertail Brewing during the RBWG 2015 Grand Tasting. Black with tan head. Aromas of chocolate, spices. Tastes of chocolate, roast, licorice. Medium-full body with a dry finish.

Growler shared at RBWG15. Thick black pour. Brownies, vanilla, chocolate, booze heat, whiskey. Smooth and decadent. Nice.

Growler during RBWG 2015. Pours oily black with a foamy tan head. The aroma has lots of hard roast, light smoke, baking cocoa, some vanilla. Medium to big sweet flavor with some dark fruits, oily chocolate, roast, scorched earth, burnt wood. Full bodied, soft, oily and chewy. Lightly warming on the finish with plenty of gooey chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, raisins, leather. Heavy duty stuff but certainly very good.

Bottle enjoyed quietly at home as a nightcap after Bruges beer festival weekend. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of rich dark chocolate, molasses, light smooth whiskey notes, wood, vanilla, dark fruit notes, leather and fudge. Flavor is light heavy sweet and bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Lovely!

Bottle. The pour is dark with rim head. The aroma is bourbon and dark fruits. The taste is a mouthful. A little light upfront, but then the bourbon comes through nicely. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Via trade with Ataraxia. The aroma is nice, bourbon, chocolate, vanilla. The appearance is deep black, oily, deep tan head. The flavor is bittersweet chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, molasses, licorice. The booze comes in more as you hold it in your mouth. Thick in nobody, creamy mouthfeel. The finish is roasty, lighter in bourbon than you would expect. The roast only shows here. This is an expertly crafted impy stout.

Bottle. Pours black with tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, whiskey. Taste is like get, a tad thin, chocolate, hint of barrel aging. Nice chocolate beer but aftertaste and bitterness takes hold. Good, not great.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2015 Bottle thanks to Keith. Nose is slightly boozy and chocolate. Taste is very boozy. Second bottle thanks to Troy. Dam gud. Third bottle when I wasn’t blasted. Nose is boozy chocolate with dried dark fruits and light vanilla. A little toffee. Taste is super sweet with a peppery hot alcohol.

Black liquid with a slight tan head. Like milk chocolate. No lacing. Big coffee and chocolate aroma. Dark fruits and a bit of molasses. Taste is a great peppery fueled chocolate. Slight heat and a slight earthy note.
