Doug’s Original Stout aged in Rum Barrels with vanilla beans.

Pour is jet black with a dark mahogany head. Nose is sweet, lots of vanilla, caramel and some rich chocolate. A touch sugary. Taste is also rich but sugary. Loads of vanilla, sweet malt and sugar, caramel, brown sugar, slightly roasted. Body is heavy and creamy with moderate carbonation.

A - thick tar black. Head lasts with decent lacing. S - beautiful strong strong vanilla right up front. Very rich. Tangy cacao up front too . Sugar and rich cookie dough. Alcohol is there but not overly so. Graham crackers and marshmallows bring a sense of moon pies or s'mores. Waffle cone is very strong. M - relatively dry and medium to full bodied with a creamy feel. T - some alcohol and tanginess up front. Lighter in the taste than expected. Bitter chocolate, coffee grounds, charred oak, vanilla, faint waffle cones, some earth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

black, thin tan head dissipates. Nose is ultra burnt sugar, chocolate syrup, bit of oat and grain adds complexity. Flavor bites with sugar up front, mid is tar and molasses, sugar throughout even to burnt rubber finish.

Pours thick black oil with a rich dark cocoa head. The aroma brings vanilla and brown sugar with an almost cola like sweetness, really nice. The flavor blends the stout with a ton of vanilla so well bringing a sweetness throughout the palate seemingly coming from the malts and rum barrels and vanilla all working together. The sweetness works so well though, and is not overbearing at all. There are some roasted malt undertones, almost chocolate there as well.

Thanks for opening this Tom! Pours black in color with a small amount of head. Brown stains the glass upon swirling. Nose is malt, spirits, booze, vanilla, and oak. Flavor starts out heavy malt and oak, and finishes with a large amount of vanilla sweetness. There is almost a little harshness to it despite being sweet. Mouthfeel is smooth and velvety, booze is actually hidden pretty well, and it has a moderate to long finish. Nice beer, though I think I prefer the RareR DOS more personally. Found this to be a little heavy handed with the vanilla.

Doug kills it! Dark brown color, brown head. Aroma is loaded with vanilla, chocolate, rum, toffee. Flavor is sweet and bold, but balanced. The vanilla and rum do so well in the base beer. Rich and freaking delicious. Thanks Doug!

Magically delicious. Aroma is rich vanilla, oak, rum, milk chocolate, and toasted coconut. Taste is incredibly flavorful and robust with a silky mouthfeel. Not overly sweet but slightly booze heavy. Amazing beer and glad I got to try it.

Wow this is awesome, huge thanks to Collin. You’re the man. Not overly vanilla is what vanilla stout fail but havin rum instead of bourbon saves this one. A slight bit boozy keeps it from the top

Draft on tap at Peg’s Cantina (Gulfport, FL). Woot! Pours a rich deep blackish pour, thick and near opaque, dark with frothy light brown head atop. Frothy lacing atop dies to a filmy layer, laces ok. Aromas throw vanilla, cocoa, and coffee. Touches of spirit, oak, and roastiness. Creamy and mellow sweet vanilla bean doesn’t overwhelm. Initial is fuller, sweet with touches of Rum, vanilla bean, brown sugar. Roast, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Lusher rum vanilla flavors are apparent, sweet and tasty. Middle has some body, roast and caramel, rum vanilla, cakey, and cocoa wafts in. Backend is sticky caramel, spirit warmth and barrel tannins. Vanilla, rum, and caramel. Cocoa, a bit more dry, this doesn’t have a huge body but offers some good girth, sticky malts, good flavors that envelope the palate. Tasty, assertive vanilla bean and rum play well together. Tasty. Rich flavors. Nice.
