3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very soft, low carbonation. Dark fruit and chocolate sweet palate. Not a thirst quencher, but a good alternative to a french cafe beer.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Tawny brown, almost red, pured well. The head was light lacy and stayed throughout. Fruity (berries) & quite sweet, with a tart finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap: light cherry fruitiness, cloudy choco-brown color. Syrupy, toffee malt body with black currant tones in the middle. Nice sweet finish. Think body and a texture that fills all corners of the mouth. Pretty full, good dessert beer that is not too heavy.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
on tap at Tango du Chat, Paris: Malt and cherry nose but weak. Murky brown with hints of red. Flat carbonations, brussels laces. Fruity, from the smell I would say, cherry. Medium finish. Nice and refreshing, ok. Nice place with served olives and peanuts.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A mind altering dark syrupy concoction. A small throwback bottle that hits like Iron Mike. Not for the faint hearted.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A fresh dark beer! Caramel notes in the flavor. Very malty and a nice thick head.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown colour with almost no head. The flavour is very sweet with traces of chocolate and caramel. Not bad, anyway, but Belgian beers are definitely really better than this one.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: AUG 12, 2011 Feb 2002 Dating back to 1937 (when it was called Pelican) this is a dark, malty sweet beer - a style quite popular with the French, especially in the North. It is an easy drinking and quite pleasant beer without any distinquishing features. [2.6]
Jan 2003 Le Sevigne bar, Corignan. Bottle. A murky brown beer. A maltier Newkie Brown - like sucking a liquid black bread through cotton wool. Interesting sardine and prune aroma. [2.9]
Feb 2011 Can, Marseille. Pleasant malty sweet brown beer. Enjoyable. [3.0]

Sorry for the others:
The only beer worth drinking in France. Dark, caramel-taste, malty and full of character.
