2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
[Bought at Korsika in 2003.] Very special beer on the limit to be too much sweet. Notes of caramel, caramel and caramel and also not the best hoppy flavor. Rather unbalanced.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tried this on in Lyon in April-07. Not too bad for a French beer. It poured a brown-red colour with a decent beige head. The taste was quite sweet with roasty malts and caramel notes. Doesn’t say much but the best French beer I’ve tried

Bottle. Pours a clear brown color with a longlasting tan head. Fruity malty caramel aroma, with some hints of yeast. Sweet malty caramel flavor with hints of chocolate and yeast. Sweet malty finish, warming and slightly bitter aftertaste.

25 cl. bottle. Brown colour with a medium mostly diminishing white creamish head. Sweet and malty aroma. Flavour is soft, sweet, good mild roasty maltiness, fruity hops and a little bit of chocolate. Tasty!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sampled from 650ml bottle purchased in Paris with rubber stopper in top. Pours a watery reddish brown, with a full and thick toasted head. Smells or malt, fruit, burnt sugar, something like a tootsie roll pop. Taste is fruit malt, yeast and lemony hops cutting through with alcohol. Didn’t find the chocolate taste that was advertised, but this beer didn’t suffer because of it. Good drinking, good priced, French beer (as if that’s saying something special).

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A cute bottle with a rather inagressive taste. Completely forgettable but I’ve found that in France you can do much worse.
