Sample came in a 50 cl. can. Pours dark ruby-brown, with a thin but lingering off-white head. On the nose I get loads of sweet malt and caramel from the grains, combined with ripe melon or banana, bordering on nail varnish and bubble gum from a typical Belgian type of yeast. No hop aroma. The flavour reflects all this, it’s fruity and has a complex malty quality. It is on the sweet side, but not cloying. Fairly well balanced by a neutral, flavourless hop bitterness, presuming delivered by some noble German hop, and also by some alcohol spice. Both these lingers on the finish. Not as intensely sweet and alcoholic as many of its Belgian cousins, but the flavour profile definitely goes towards these Belgian Brunes. This said in a positive light, as it is by far more drinkable than most of those, and as my pint glass now starts to empty, I almost wish I had picked up two of these cans.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2014 Very sweet and fruity with a lot of flavor of brown sugar, chocolate and raisins. Quite tiring in the long run.

Fantastic ruby red colour. Very malty flavour and beautiful aroma. Paired with a steak pie it was a perfect combo. Bring this beer to UK shops please!

Clear deep brown appearance with medium head. Roasted caramel aroma, a lot of sweetness, overall decent Brown Ale style beer.

Dark brown with a frothy head. Wheaty and hearty flavor with lingering pallet. Full bodied rich & French, everything you would ask for in a wine, but instead in a beer!

Malty, sweet, little on the nose. Light, bitterness and a short, malty finish.
