On tap @ Doelen Café. Quick tick in transit between two trains. Almost clear bright golden/orange with a small off-white head and heavy lacing. Aroma is yeasty with orange peel, moderate spiciness and metallic notes. Taste is spicy (a tad cloying) with yeast, orange peel and metallic notes. Medium body. A tad watery. Moderate carbonation. Not offensive, but not that easily drinkable either because of the spiciness.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2014 33cl bb07/2014 - 5,5% courtoisie de idiosyncrasie, mercie! Pours cloudy weyish yellow, less creamy than the best blanches. Spiced, grassy aroma with a fair dosage of concentrated coriander seed. An overall herbal spiciness of bittering hops, grass, white pepper dominates the mid and back palate, erasing quite a few subtleties that the wit is duly heir to: well-drinkable, but slightly overcarbonated and missing the soft-treading pillowy yeast, introducing airy, fruity, perfumed pockets in the spiced wheats.

Bottle (5,5%) @ weekly tasting shared with Joes. Hazy yellow color, huge foamy white head. Aroma is very fruity and a bit herbal. Taste is quite herbal, decently fruity, coriander. Not the best example of a witbier but it’s quite decent.

330ml bottle [5.5% abv, as per label]. Hazy deep golden colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity, wheaty and yeasty aroma with a bretty touch, hints of bubblegum, orange zest, a peppery touch in the background. Taste is initially moderately sweet fruity, yeasty with hints of peach, apricot, later slightly herbal and peppery spicy, in the finish even with a minimally salty touch of liquorice; lively carbonation. Nicely developing taste, unusually but inventively spiced, rich and complex - surprisingly good.

On tap at the brewpub. Listed as 4.5% on the menu, but as 5.5% on the blackboard. Hazy golden yellow colour, dense white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, clove, quite Weizen-like, green banana. Flavour is light-sweet, wheat, light tart, yeast, mostly bitter, quite bitter actually, hint of spice and banana, grassy hoppy & yeasty bitter finish. Light-bodied. Decent.
