Dit is voor mij echt een topbier. ATB bier van de maand, van de tap in de Vlaamsche Reus in Wageningen. Donkerbruin met flinke creme-kleurige kraag. Vol bier met heerlijke smaak van mout, hout en vanille. Niet te zwaar, vrij zacht. Super.

On tap @ De Paas. Dark, almost red coloured beer with a tanned head. Aroma of wine, port, oak, roasted malts and later on we smelled coffee as well. Flavour is incredibly full. The wine flavour comes back in the beginning, followed by the roast and then some coffee or dark chocolate. This is great stuff.. too bad it’s from Rotterdam :P

Draught @ Cafe Becoloth, Boxtel. Dark brown color, with a nice deep dark red glow coming through. Very nice creamy, vast beige head that lasts for quite a while. Smell roasty, lightly fruits, hints of alcohol, hints of sweet and bitter. Taste some fruityness, roasty and fresh. Lightly sticky texture. Medium carbo, medium body. Nice beer, like it a lot!

VSOP de Pelgrim: On tap at Pothuiske, Maastricht.
Cloudy dark brown beer with a superb creamy tan light beige head. At the first slip the aromaa is moderated. After a while it opens with án interesting character. Wood and oak in the nose, cocoa and tartness with a balance of light dark fruits. The flavor continues the experience. More cocoa, more tart and wood that stays on the tongue, light belgian yeast fruitiness in the background. Earth, cocoa and oak in the aftertaste.

Draft at the source. Very dark brown color, beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of cocoa powder, coffee grounds, light spice. Taste is sweet and lightly spiced nutella. My favorite of the evening.

Draft @ de paas. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, spices and a nice oak character. Flavour is deep caramel, some spices and a big shot of roast, almost like an imperial stout.

A black colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of dark fruits, roasted malts and hop. The taste is sparkled hoppy with dark malts and fruits with coffee. The aftertaste is gentle dark roasted malt with some coffee. When the beer gets warmer a good balance.

On tap at Wildeman. Nice dark red body with slight head. Nose is wooden, oaky, vanilla and sweet. Taste is similar, of wood, vanilla and toffee. Quite nice with sweet, bitter and syrupy finish.

Donker bier van de tap. Er valt weinig te ruiken maar de smaak is heel apart. Vanille, verbrand hout, rokerig. Goede rokerige nasmaak.

On tap. The aroma has caramel malts, some nuts, some oak. Dark red coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is a bit sweet, has liquorice, hint of nuts, some chocolate and spice. Nice.
