Commercial Description:
The country ales of France inspire our Fall seasonal beer, Bridal Ale. Bridal Ale was originally brewed in celebration of the wedding of two Pelican staff members, brewer Travis Zeilstra and server Jen Pelletier. This year's edition of Bridal Ale features a deep copper color and a rich, toasted malt character. Subtle floral hints and fruity notes punctuate the aroma, while a slightly sweet malt flavor and warming effect characterize the finish.

Sweet aroma with a slight hint of hops. Hard to detect hops but there. Balanced toffee with a deep but soft bitterness with a sweet aftertaste. Earthy. Murky brown with a small white head. Prickly carbonation and moderately thick. I liked it.

Hazy orange colour with a white head. Malty, almost vinous aroma with vanilla and hop notes. Sweet fruity flavor with grainy and alcohol sweet notes.

2005 bottle sampled July 2008.

Stunning, stunning, stunning. Beautiful deep amber brown, glowing - only a hint of a head. Big complex nose that cmes out even more deeply in the flavor, incredible how much is going on here. Caramel and finely aged hops almost like a barleywine but without any of the heaviness; smoke and deep malt like a scotch ale. Wood, a bit of pepper, a little bit of dark fruit, again those well-aged hops (in a good way!). Pretty flat mouthfeel but this is a minor quibble. In general, a very unusual and at 3 years of age absolutely outstanding beer. The age served this one well and I think timed it well. I’d be interested to try it fresh but I bet it was near its peak just now.

Splendid and I would say sorely underrated on the site.

(Bottle 75 cl9 Slightly hazy amber golden with tiny floating impurities and a yellowish/beige head. Sweetish aroma of caramel and overripe fruit. Medium body with a low carbonation and a soft mouthfeel. Sweetish notes of caramel and overripe fruit and a whiff of aroma hops. Very subdued bitterness. 260708

Bottle. A amber beer with a off white head. The aroma is of caramel malt, fruit and rye bread, the taste is much the same but sweet. Medium body with a sweet finish.

Copper with no head. The aroma is of spruce (gran) and dark fruit and malt. The flavor is similar, but it lags something compared to the aroma.
