A dark brown color, with a balanced aroma of roasted malts and Northwest-grown hops. The sweetness of the ale, crystal, and chocolate malts blend beautifully with the assertive flavors of Cascade and Mt. Hood hops.

Bottle. The pour was a clear medium chestnut brown with a large (2-3 finger) light brown frothy head that did have decent retention, reducing to a thick film with a large collar and had good sheeting of runny lacing. The aroma was of a toasted caramel malt, spruce and floral hops and an earthy yeast with notes of chocolate, coffee, brown sugar and a touch of rye. The taste was nice and malty with a hint of chocolate and caramel early on, and then progressed into a slightly bitter sweet taste with notes of coffee, brown sugar and a touch of molasses with a mild hoppy finish. The flavor lasted an average duration preceding the swallow with a mild malty-bitter taste left to linger for a while longer. Mouthfeel was almost medium in body and slightly dry in texture with a mild carbonation. Overall a bold and robust tasting Brown Ale with a nice light bitterness ant the end...

Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of caramel, cocoa, toasted malt and light yeast. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of caramel, toasted malt and light cocoa with a crisp lingering caramel finish.

Tap at Pelican Brewing in Tillamook. Pours clear brown with red hues and off-white head. Aroma is extreme caramel, chocolate, sweet malts. Taste is very chocolate, bitter, a lil dirty barley. Overall, decent.

(bottle) What a surprise! A big punch of roasted malts and a lovely hot of green hoppyness in this that makes it from the first mouthful a bit of a pleasant experience. Unfortunately the bottle I have was right at the edge of itís "enjoy by" date. I sit here thinking that the fresh version must be a real eye-popper of a drink.

Bottle (22oz $5): pours a clear ruby brown with one finger light tan head. I got very little aroma. Tasted is subtle toasted malt with slight bitterness. Body is between light and medium as is carbonation. Very drinkable and relatively inexpensive. Could be a regular, but wish they had them in 12oz.

Subdued aroma is followed by an enjoyable sour-malt flavour and subtle bitter finish. A good example of the style.

Brown ales are usually a bit bland but this one isnt too bad. Toffee biscuit rich malty taste. Minimal hops. Good winter beer. Well made.

Not bad at all. My bottle says "American Brown Ale," and Iím not sure exactly what this means. More hoppy, perhaps, than the Euro varieties. Not as much malt forward. Quite good.

At prewpub in Tillamook with Taylor, Stephen, and Dina. Pours dark maroon bronze, almost no head. Aroma is amber malt, nutty, some ronch. Taste is dirty red malt, some musky, meh.

Enjoy by July 27, 2014. It pours brown with reddish highlights, a good 2 finger head of foam that shrinks slowly, leaving almost a complete layer on top of the beer. The smell is a mix of roasted malt, a hoppy bitterness that almost borders on being fruity, and some notes of sweet malt. In the taste, there seems to be a nice balance amongst the smells I noted above. Itís very smooth and tasty and very easy to drink. I just reviewed another Brown Ale that was more assertive with the hop bitterness and I liked it a lot, but this is JUST as enjoyable, in different ways. On the light side of medium bodied, on the lower side of medium carbonation, the mouthfeel is good. A very nice well made brown Ale. I enjoyed it.
