3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 tmoreau (1268) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - DEC 6, 2011
Gift bomber shared at a monthly tasting, and poured to a sampler with a clear, deep orange/gold color, decent amount of off white froth to the head, and clingy streaks & spots of lacing. A little age on this bottle, thus the noticeable malt sweetness, but still expressive notes of perfumey citrus as grapefruit, lesser orange, mid-fruit, and a touch of spice. The flavor retained a strong hop bitterness that lasted through the finish, and concluded close to full bodied and dry. Impressive, and probably more so if I had broken it out earlier.

Nice copper coloring after the pour. Subtle citrus notes on the nose. A little malt, a little sweet and quite smooth for a 7.5% IPA. Welcome to Seattle, Pelican Pub!!

Small off-white head over clear metallic-orange beer. Rosewater & passionfruit, C-hops’ nose, very nice if unidimensional, citruscharacter. Bitterorange zeste, orange marmalade, copperflavour. Less sweet than the nose suggested, but the aftertaste reverts to dull-sweet. Medium bodied, very slick. More than OK, nice, citrussy IPA.

Great looking beer, but the hop flavor is all astringent, bitter, with little to no lemon/citrus.

Bomber. Pours a light golden orange aromas are lovely with lots of citrus (grapefruit and a little lemon). Flavor is super clean with a very nice hops kick. The malt is perfectly balanced against the almost stinging hops presence.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 savnac (1362) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JUN 25, 2011
On tap @ Pelican. Hazy golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of citrus and very light pine and malt. Flavor is pretty bitter with some light malt presence, the alcohol is well hidden. Medium body with average carbonation and a dry, crisp mouth feel. I was really excited for this and ended up being a bit disappointed, maybe the keg was a bit old, I’ll try again sometime.
