Bottle shared by David, thanks man! Not sure of the vintage but let’s say it is from 2011 (I believe it would have been said if it were older). I didn’t take much notes but I will say that this is a really great beer that I wouldn’t get bored of drinking and is on par with CCB Leon, GI King Henry and every world class barleywines! I do remember it being a little more intense on the barrel aromas and flavors though.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
2012 Bottle shared while at Brouwers in August 2015. Brown caramel color pour without any head on top. Aroma of bourbon and overly sweet malts. Flavor follows with some muddled sweet malts, a bit hot, a bit thin, and lots of oaky bourbon. Feel is on the thinner/harsh side overall, with little to no carbonation. I don’t know if this was past it’s prime or what, but I was pretty disappointed. Not bad, but not up to expectations.

Bottle from somewhere in Portland. I was glad to find this one, and it seems to have aged nicely. Beautiful glowing brown pour. Boozy sweet nose, but not discomfiting. Relatively sweet but not too much so, hops present to bitter things out a bit but not all that prominent. Lots and lots of caramel, aged barleywine. Tasty stuff. I’m a bit over barleywines, even BA barleywines, but this sure is a nice one.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2014 vintage. Thick viscous pour - dark golden brown. Looks dangerously good. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, caramel, toffee. Taste is molasses, bitterness, syrupy, mild bourbon, booze, mild vanilla. Just a touch too much darker malt in my barleywine than I appreciate. Also alcohol is pretty prevalent. Great stuff, not the most complex one around but definitely super tasty.
