2010 (Mother of All Storms) - Stormwatchers Winterfest 2009 aged in Evans Williams bourbon barrels.
2011 (Mother of All Storms) - Stormwatchers Winterfest 2010 aged in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels.

There are many storms out there, all of them perfect in their own way. But there is only one Mother of all Storms and it only happens in Pacific City, Oregon. Based on Stormwatcher’s Winterfest, our English-style barleywine, Mother of all Storms spent many months aging in Kentucky bourbon barrels. Now at its peak, Mother of all Storms delivers deep flavors of toasted malt, bourbon and oak. The finish rewards with whispers of vanilla, toffee and caramel. Best enjoyed with gusts exceeding 60 mph.

Bottle. [thank you after4ever]
vintage 2009
Deep brown, light muddy texture. Small, fizzy film head that soon disappears. Aroma is powerful with lots of bourbon, vinious, roasted, light coffee, deep toasted caramel, lots of vanilla, oak and brown sugar. Super slick and oily palate with mild, prickly carbonation. Complex caramel flavour, lots of vanilla and bourbon, mild sweet chocolate, roasted malts and a good vinious backbone. A true sipper. Wonderful.

2011 Bottle. Opaque dark brown beer, pale tan head. Sweetish bourbon nose. Crispy palate, semi dry. Rich chocolatey malt and bourbon. Alcohol heat. Minerals. Vanilla oak sweetness. Overall a huge beer but the palate is light and crisp. Good but should have left it for a year or three!

2010 bottle at 13.0%. Palate is crisp and comparatively light. Semi dry. Nice coconut, mildly toasted. Trace of vanilla. A little dark chocolate liquer. Aniseed and brandy alcohol. A bit less aggressive than then 2011.

Bomber - possibly from Bottleworks. Pours clear dark garnet with a transient tan head. Sweet aromasof bourbon/vanilla. Full bodied. Sweet, but not sticky. Mild heat. Touch of oak. Flavor is somewhat dark fruit with smooth bourbon, and perhaps a touch of brown sugar. Barleywine as it should be.
