Just as red lanterns were once used to guide fishing boats to home base at the end of the day during foggy winter weather, our Red Lantern IPA is the perfect way to end your winter day. Born from our brewer’s love of hops and craving for a deep caramel backbone, the rich red color and medium body delivers just the right balance. Copious amounts of El Dorado hops give Red Lantern a clean hoppy finish.

Pours out a dark amber with thick, airy beige head. Malt dominates the aroma, leaning towards the RIPA side of the scale. Hops edge in on taste, lots of caramel malts too. Hops drag on in the finish. A maltier IPA.

Herbal, citrus hops and sweet, lightly toasty aroma. Hoppy flavor: Citrus, pepper, herbal. Light malt flavor: Caramel, bread crust. Not as sweet as the aroma had me expecting. Caramel aftertaste. Substantial bitterness.

A well made, easy-drinking beer, but I found it rather bland. The label mentions "a clean hoppy finish", and they’re right: it’s so clean that all the dirty middle notes get washed away, leaving only the sharper highs. This beer needs a bit more sticky filth through the middle and the confidence to carry it.

Bottle from Brew Fest. Nice clear reddish amber with lasting head and lace. Citrus and fruit and caramel aroma. Toasted nutty caramel malts with mild fruitiness and assertive pine and fruity rind bittereness. Medium body. Lively carb accentuates hops. Very good.

A sweeter maltier Ipa than most, with a red color. This has some nice hops, then sugar. Mostly bitterness in the finish until the sweetness comes back very late. Good, but is a little sticky sweet.

On tap at a local pub in Southern Oregon. Lacey, off white fine foam on top of a great looking reddish brown ale. Drinks very.smooth, with little aftertaste or up front bite.

Bottle from Grocery Outlet. Deep amber in color on the pour. Nose is fairly malty with a bit of an earth hop character. A touch of sweetness as well. Crisp sharp hoppiness throughout. Good hoppiness with a touch of sweetness. Almost has a grassy pilsner like finish. Pretty tasty.

On tap at Hop ’n Headz, pours a clear amber orange with a small white head. Aroma reveals notes of piney hops, spiciness, and light bready caramel. Flavour is dry, with piney hops and bready notes. Sort of vegetal and soapy on the finish. Decenty balanced and pleasant enough.

Poured from tap to glass. Red hue with creamy off white head that settled. Aroma is spicy, toffee, caramel, cereal. Mouthfeel is great with a medium light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry with a nice hop bitterness. Overall this is a tasty brew.
