Just as red lanterns were once used to guide fishing boats to home base at the end of the day during foggy winter weather, our Red Lantern IPA is the perfect way to end your winter day. Born from our brewer’s love of hops and craving for a deep caramel backbone, the rich red color and medium body delivers just the right balance. Copious amounts of El Dorado hops give Red Lantern a clean hoppy finish.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2014 Serving: from tap at Filiberto’s Italian Restaurant. Aroma: light citrus and pine hop. Appearance: average-sized, creamy, off-white, initial head with very good lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, dark-amber body. Taste: lightly bitter, piney initial flavor and lightly bitter, citrusy finish with long duration. Palate: medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Overall: excellent. Very good aroma and flavor to match. Interesting and easy to drink.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours hazy dark copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma is sort of fruit and melon. Med body. Flavor of mild, slightly roasted caramel, and hop that seems apricot/melon. It’s bitter, but balanced, not harsh. Finishes just a bit more malty than I might like it. A drink that’s laid back.

Enjoy by Aug 12, 2014 It pours a dark red with a 1 finger head of foam, and leaves some light lacing behind. It smells of citrus hops, some pine, and a bit of a malty note here and there. It’s kind of bitter; I get some grapefruit, a little bit of pine, but there’s a solid malt backbone in this red IPA. Just enough sweetness to balance things out. A good brew for folks who like balance. Not so much for real hop heads. Medium body, same for the carbo. Good mouthfeel that has some bitterness in the finish. A good brew.

bottle from Pelican. pours a very clear red with a large off white head that lingers and laces to no end. aroma is rather malty with some light toast and caramel. taste is initially sweet with some moderate hop flavor coming through mid palate. ends rather dry due to hop bitterness. overall, a decent IPA, but I like mine a little more hop forward and less malty. a very clean and well made beer

Bottle:   Musty citrus peel and pith, not too bitter, a little subdued actually.   Looks good, good body, but not a bright IPA.   A little caramel or toffee, some bready notes, with a background of that musty and almost candied pith and peel.   Not as sweet as I am making it sound tho.   Interesting, like many IPAs before it, but the bitterness that I expect to be there, is really not there.   A little baffled... Not bad, but could stand to have some more IPA like characteristics.

Pours one finger of head on a hazy copper colored body. The aroma is dank grapefruit with a touch of bright lemon. The taste is rich malt, caramel and some moderate lemon bitterness. Good balance. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. Nicely done.

22 bomber. Clear red/amber body with a tall off-white head. Citrus/pine hop aroma. The flavor is nicely bitter with a good long dry finish. Nice Red IPA.

Bomber. Pours a reddish color with medium head and lacing. Aroma of grass and earth. Taste of grass and caramel malt along with floral notes. Not much complexity but decent. ----Hophaze out

Reddish amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice hops and malt balance. Loved the hops and the dark malts flavor. This is a super beer.
