harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Mar 13, 2006 This is a beer that eats like a meal. Thick and hearty, full of character though, chewy on the palate, with rich fruit flavors, and sweet black molasses, and perhaps a little bit of honey and toffee. Sweet and spicy in the finish. Oakes (6977), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Mar 1, 2006 Fairly dark golden-brown colour. Chewy, woody, molassesy aroma, with a light cherry and plum note. The body is a bit oily and still. Fairly sweet with the full range of malt flavour from caramel to toffee to whole grain bread crust. Sweet finish with a rummy accent. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 19, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Clear ruby, small but lasting head. Complex fruity aroma. Sweet with dense mouthfeel, near full body andnotes of toffee and molasses. There’s also a wealth of exotic fruits. Lingering salty bitter finish. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Dec 6, 2003 Great color on this one of dark rust. Earthy rum flavor all over the palate. Hops are there, but somewhat subdued. Excellent aftertaste filled with smokiness. Not a bad brew!
