evilsoc (169), Wales Sep 17, 2008 Deep black tan head. Ridiculously chocolatey with burnt malts and alcohol. lovely aromas. Acidic smokey charcoaled chocolate flavours and fast wet finish. Good home brew feel with a few extra handfuls of chocolate malt for good luck. Mes_and_Sim (4487), Highgate, Greater London, England Feb 25, 2007 A Mes rate:
50cl bottle from that place in Wales that I can never spell. A solid milky stout. Obvious chocolate malt. A little basic in the nose but all you would expect is in there. A little over carbed for the style. All too spritzy in the palate, I like a stout to be much smoother. The added chocolate is fantastic giving a lovely dark chocolate bitter finish. Sadly the more I drink the more the carb lats it down. Shame because it could be really good. All that said I enjoyed every drop of this and can’t help but have a soft spot for this brewery. saxo (2324), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark Apr 24, 2008 Bottle. Huge creamy head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are chocolate and notes of smoke. Sweet and dry. Geth_in_beer (677), Nova Scotia, Canada May 31, 2008 Updated: Jun 18, 2008Bottle. Chocolate aroma, some berries in the also. Reminds me of a port. Black in colour with a great looking frothy brown bread head. Smooth texture, chocolate, smoked hops, coffee. Warming beer, velvet in a glass. Quality ale, yet keeps that home made feel. Good tasty stout. thewolf (3983), Kolding, Denmark May 20, 2008 Bottle @ thewolfs pre-festival tasting, Kolding.
Pours deep red-black with a fine, creamy, beige head. Aroma is light chocolate, weak coffee. Light and perhaps a bit thin. Flavour is quite wonderful, dark chocolate, some coffee, pleasantly soft, subdued roastiness.
