Wales The True Taste Gold Award 2005-6. Light on alcohol but full of flavour. It has a malty taste with undertones of hops, and light notes of orange and citrus.

500ml bottle from Fire & Ice, Narberth. Pours cloudy orange / copper with a proud white head. Vague malt aroma. Taste is rather weak and a touch watery with a mirage-like maltiness. Pleasant enough but not a lot going on really. Which at 3.0% was probably to be expected.

Bottle sampled at Björn, thanks. Very short white head. Chrystal clear yellow color. Artificial candy aroma. Sweet taste and caramell taste. No bitterness to balance the sweetness. Low alcohole beer is always hard to make, and this is another example of this.

Bottle from a delicacy store in Cardiff. It poured a hazy golden liquid with a white head. Strong and malty smell but with a note of rubber that disturbs a bit. The taste is similar to the smell except for the rubber. Very low bitterness, I can hardly feel any bitterness at all. Extremely smooth mouthfeel, like velvet in my mouth. A bit onesided beer but also very easy to drink.

Bottled. Clear pale golden, minimal head. Sweet and fruity with light body and clean mouthfeel. Very light and shallow. Low bitterness.

Bottle at thewolf’s Kolding tasting, 15 May 2008. Rather surprised to come to a tasting in Denmark only to see a whole bunch of bottles that I could have bought from the organic food shop at the end of my street at home (but hadn’t). Not much to say about this one really. Pale gold colour with a light haze. Don’t know what the hops are (UK organically grown hops are rather problematic) but there didn’t seem too many of them. Drinkable enough in a featherweight sort of way.

500ml Bottle conditioned: Not a big fan of this. Watery, weak malt kind of dish-watery beer.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small diminished white head. Mild hoppy and fruity aroma with a mild spice note. Mild bitterness and light fruity note in a rather vague blend. A bit watery. Light acidic and bitter finish, thin but also rather dry.

Ungstrup (34660) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - SEP 7, 2008
Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of citrus and hops as well as a light accent of malt. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of yeast, but also light notes of malt and citrus fruits. The body is thin.

Bottle. Low off-white and lasting head. Hazy golden body. Fruity herbal aroma. Flavor of fruits, a bit watery but still quite tasty in spite of the low alcohol percentage. Low carbonation, short aftertaste.
