The good folks at Sharp Edge Creekhouse had a draught of this little beauty. Letís make a little critique sandwich. First, I liked the smell, the chocolate, roasted flavors, and the balance. But, it came off as a thin beer, almost like a chocolate porter instead. Again, a solid beer thatís most noticeable quality was in the moderation of strong flavors because I donít actually want a beer cut with chocolate milk, or a chocolate nib candy bar in my beer - I want a beer.

Snifter with bmillsy. Pours typical porter/stout black with nice dirty white head. Delicious. Coffee, chocolate smokey aroma.

Rated side by side with 3 other Penn brews. Pours black with nearly no head. Aroma if rich cocoa powder and chocolate sauce, some earthy coffee to this, and definite sweet lactose notes. Flavor is light chocolate sauce, a tiny bit of earthy roast, and a nice sweet lactose touch. Medium bodied, smooth, with low plus carbonation. Hey, this is a pretty darn good sweet stout.

Tree bark brown. Minimal lacing, in fact, I don?t see it any more and my beer is still cold. Sweet subtle aroma of chocolate, malt, sugar, wood and we earth. Taste is exactly the same. Very clean stout. How can you go wrong?

Pours a dark brown with a medium brown head. Strong chocolate and spice notes. Rich, creamy, and flavorful.

Draft at Glaziers pub at Hidden Valley. Aroma is nice huge chocolate notes. Very similar to Samuel smiths organic chocolate stout. Taste isn't quite as smooth though. Medium bodied. Light sweetness. Creamy and slick texture. Nice cocoa and some roasted malts. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rich chocolate aroma and taste. Enjoy the chocolate forward approach. Body overall average, but a fun beer to have.

The aroma and look of this brew was top notch. ITís body was thick and creamy. But itís palate was a little weak and itís finish was also. Has not quite reached the standard Youngís set for a chocolate stout

Bottle from wegmans. Pours black with a small brown head that dissipates quickly. The aroma smells like a melted Hershey bar. The taste is very chocolate forward, sweet as hell. Good but this is close to cloying.

Very dark and opaque with a tan head. Creamy, light roasted malt, smooth strong chocolate. Definite sweetness, but full and punchy.

On draft at McGillins. Pours super dark with tan head. Aroma is very sweet chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel, with a very mild body. Much less sweet on the palate than the nose would indicate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
