Commercial Description:
Munich and various roasted malts give it a very malty, rich flavor with a hint of burnt flavor. 100% imported Hallertau hops, moderate bitterness and aroma.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep amber brown color with a foamy, light tan head. The head does not maintain itself very well. The nose is slightly vegetal and roasty with notes of wood, dark caramel, a little raisin or prune, and a bit of tobacco. The flavor is very light and rather unfulfilling based on the nose. Slight watered down roasted notes, just a bit of malt sweetness, and a dull bitterness. It is light on the tongue and very dry as well. Thankfully the finish is relatively short and tasteless. What starts out with hope leads to a dead end on the tongue. Not recommended.

12oz Bottle from Funknmilla: Murky mahogany w/ a wisp of khaki head. Aroma is mostly malts w/ the slightest hint of caramel. Flavor is surprise...malty. Some roasty coffee & chocolate w/ a bit of caramel peeking through. Nothing amazing, but I was expecting it to suck after drinking a Penn Gold before it...

Lager yeast and caramalt nose. Brown with a light white head. Medium bodied and a bit buttery, like a newcastle with a lager yeast. not bad for a lager.

Brewed in the USA... Pours a lite brown color with a super thin off white head. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar and malts. Taste is malty with some mild chocolate and caramel flavors. Mouthfeel is medium in body with a smooth texture and a slightly burnt roasted finish. Pretty nice dunkel, easy to drink after a long day at work !!!

On tap at Barcade. Pours a hazy dark brown to black with a thin white head. Caramel, malt, vanilla. Sweet, caramel, spicy, malty, chocolate, almost a bit of vanilla. Medium body. Light bitter finish with some bitter cocoa.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color w/ an off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, malts, a smidgen of coffee and a hint of fruit. Medium bodied. Fairly easy on the palate. Pretty good stuff.

Dark translucent brown with a medium thick tan head that sticks around rather than dissapeering. A bit of carbonation is active but hard to see in the dark color. A sweet caramel and honey aroma mixed with coffee like malt. There may be a smidgen of hop aroma but its obliterated by the malt and sugar. T he taste is malty and bitter chocolate tasting. It is not as sweet a flavor as the aroma leads on. A strong taste of hops makes a flavor balance to this beer. This is a great tasting package of a beer at an economical price. Recommended.
