Bottle. Pours an orange amber body with an off white head. Sweet malty dingy malt, a bit vegetative with some corn sweetness. Eh not for me.

Skunk aroma. Hazy yellow, no head. Skunky plastic flavor with traces of lemon. A tiny bit of lemon zest. Bleh.

A fairly typical Euro lager taste to this one. Pretty full flavored for the style. OK, but nothing special.

cazort (456) - Newark, Delaware, USA - MAR 21, 2009
(Bottle) Aroma rich, malty, complex, with a hint of skunkiness and a hint of alcohol. Outstanding example of this style. This really tastes like a German beer, even down to the details of the faint and not altogether unpleasant metallic character. However...tasting "German" and tasting "Good" are two different things. This beer has some objectionable qualities: a faint skunkiness, a bit too much alcohol in the aroma, and perhaps worst of all, an unpleasant funky sourness to the malt, characteristic of many macro brews (although the hops in this beer more than distinguish it from macros). Some good, some bad, perfectly drinkable, decent, but if I were the judge, not award-winning.

Overall Impression: Pretty standard, middle of the road golden colored lager. Wouldn’t go out of my way for this one.

Bottle 355 ml
Appearance: bright gold with crystal light, snowy white mid head. Fine lace. 3+.
Nose: soapy , hoppy , with meadow and hay feel. Clean and fresh. 7-
Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied. Quiet soft as it should be, Gentle pale malt work with silky texture, gently hopped. Refreshing ,lighter lager. Proper Helles that is often underappreciated as style.

Grandpa (326) - Verona, New York, USA - FEB 7, 2009
It poured clear, pale yellowand had a large, tight white head. A light lager with a good hop finish. Tasty, refreshing, a good beer to go with a pizza. The head hung in there till the end
