Bottle from GE in Indiana. Pours clear, effervescent yellow with pillowy white head. Corn and skunked PBR nose. Grass hop flavor with abrasive, astringent flavor. Bitter corn and bread. Blech.

My Bottom Line:
Crisp malt crackers are spiced up by peppery Hallertau from aroma to finish in what tastes like a classic German brewpub Pils. Nice job.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam decorates the misty straw blond.
-The finish is mildly mineral.
-Body is appropriately lean.
-Malts aren’t perfectly defined, but remain pleasant.
-The bubbly yet soft carbonation and relatively dry body make for an elegant mouthfeel.

Bottle.

Sometimes you just need a Pilsener. Today, it’s Pennsylvania Brewing’s Kaiser. It appears to have a slightly fuller body than most Pilseners, with moderate carbonation that rises slowly through the beer glass. Its color is a little more on the golden orange side, as well, and its off-white head a little heavier than most of the style. It has an aroma of earthy, German hops, lager yeast, and smells a little maltier than what I expected. It’s a little creamy in the mouth, with pronounced hops in the flavor, leading to an almost dry, light herbal hop finish. A little too heavy for the style for me. I would enjoy this much more if it had a lower gravity and was a little more lively.

BOTMC selection - pours yellow with nice fluffy head. Corn and faint lemon aroma. Flavor is astringent hop, some corn. little sweetness, medium bitterness. Palate is thin and drying and doesn’t finish all that clean. This looks better than it tastes.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow color with a small, creamy, white head that is lasting. The aroma is very mild; hints of grainy, toasted malt and spicy, German hops. Light-bodied with lively carbonation. The flavor has pilsner malt sweetness and a very snappy hop bite, grassy. Short, crisp, mildly bitter finish. This is a so-so pilsner.

Bottle. As "Pennsylvania Kaiser Pils". Beer of the month club.Murky straw blond, minimal white head. Sweet, malt, candy yeasty aroma, tastes very bitter, surprising, compared to the aroma. Light body, bready finish, lively carbonation. Imbalanced.

Bottle. As "Pennsylvania Kaiser Pils". Beer of the month club. Hazy yellowish golden with a medium white head. Aroma of grains, grassy hops with citric notes and some diacetyl. Sweetish malt flavor, slightly bready with grainy and buttery hints, continues to a bitter hoppy finish with grassy, spicy and slightly citric hops. Medium-bodied. Quite refreshing.
