Bottle. Banana custard scent more akin to a Dubbel than an Oktoberfest with a dark bronze, low head dissolving to film, appearance. The light, crisp palate was refreshing as the grainy taste finished on a bitter note. I picked up grains all over the taste and aroma. It made me think of tortilla chips.

Light golden color, clear with a thin head. Light malt and hops aroma. Average brew and has a nice finish. MJ might have liked this back 20 years ago but now it would be average for him also.

I find it surprising that Michael Jackson ranks this on his list of top 24 American beers. Some exotic flavors but nothing to rave about. The taste may be unpleasant to some. Worth a retry just to see what I might have missed from Mr. Jackson’s review.

(12oz bottle thanks to Cavie) clear amber with a fine tan bubbled head and very little effervescence. Nose of butter, cracker, dry, chalky and a bit of caramel and apples. Taste of trash, dry grain, taffy and butter.

Pours a clear copper color with an aroma of caramel, toasted malt, and grain. Caramel malt with toasted malt, and grain make up the flavor with a medium-light body and limited lacing.

Poured copper amber, with a musty touch of sour funkiness. Had some sort of off sour flavor with malty lager body that didn’t start or end right. clearly a bad batch.

(12oz bottle, courtesy of Cavie) Pours a clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, grain, and honey. Flavor of caramel, honey, light roasted malt, and dried apricots.

Amber color in the glass. Fruity ester aroma with grainy, bready malt. Slight sweetness on the palate, medium-full body.
