COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, deep golden-colored lager fest bier that is exceptionally smooth and mellow. Uses two-row malted barley and a combination of roasted malts. Highly rated by the National Tasting Institute.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a moderate brown color with a bit of a white head. The nose is some very slight caramel and a bit of bread. Some toffee. The taste is really plain and actually brings in a tiny amount of light cardboard. Mouthfeel is medium with average carbonation. The flavor interferes with enjoyment here and this, all around, is not a terribly great beer. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-02-2010

Aroma of sweet bready malts. Taste is similar with bready malts and a very slight amount of bitterness and toastiness. Overall a pretty good oktoberfest.

On rap. Poured a deeper golden color with a small sized head. Aromas of roastiness. Caramel, and lighter earthiness. Tastes of the same.

Golden brown color with a medium white head. Sweet, malty aroma. The flavor was a sweet caramel. I love this style of beer.

Penn is back, lets see how the Oktoberfest ranks up. A-pours an orangish amber color with plenty of off white bubbly and creamy head. S-stale grains, maybe some toasted bread in there as well. tons of steel aromas and notes of bad vegetables, some sugary caramel syrupy in the back. T-much of the same but slightly better, lots of steel, stale vegetables and grains, lightly toasted bread and more sugary caramel syrupy with a light herbal hop presence in the back and hint of bitterness. M-medium body, very grainy feel to it and highly carbonated with a prickly crisp finish that seems rather messy. D-poor attempt here, there hefe and lager aren’t bad, the dark is alright as well. this one falls short of their standard offerings and has issues.

360 and these beers are getting harder to find. Sample had a GABF nice poundable example of the style, easily could belly up to a MAS of this

On draft at Penn Brewery. This lager presents itself as a dark copper beer with a tight head that disappeared quickly. On nose there are the expected Marzen scents with yeast, bread, and the slightest citrus aroma. This is a coating beer on palate with plenty ’chew’ on mouthfeel. This is a nice lager to start off my fall season with.

A- Transparent medium brown/orange amber body that pours with about a 2 finger creamy off-white head. Head fades rather quickly to less than 1/2 finger but retains this very well. No lacing is left behind in the glass. S- Subtle nose of caramel malt is about all this brew offers. Pleasing, yet simple. T- Upfront is subtle caramel malt and hops so subtle there is almost an absence of them. The finish is all caramel malt-but much stronger than the initial flavor. Lots of sweet caramel malt lingers. P- Medium carbonation and thin mouthfeel that is a little on the watery side. Goes down smooth and easy. O- This brew is simple but pretty tasty. A nice German O-fest with high drinkability and sweet taste. I’m glad I have Penn so close to me! Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-05-2007 16:15:32
