3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is one of my favorite beers. Has the perfect balance of malt and hops. Has a slight bitterness and a bit of a dry aftertaste. This is the only beer I will buy till St. Nick comes around.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This is a tolerable decent take on this style if maybe not perfectly fresh by the time I got my hands on it. It’s cloudy orange w/ a scant white head. Nose has some nice lavender hop nots w/ a subtle malty undertone. This is quite bitter and a bit grassy which does at least cut the body a bit as it’s a little too sweet. This is a pretty solid American take on the style.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can’t believe I’ve overlooked this until now. Powdery malt aroma. Standard longneck, Bavarian checkered label, festive couple on the label featuring a woman with large biceps. More on the blonde side than the bronze side. Tangy, a little honeyish, light straw, little notes of darkish syrup. Not bad, a little on the simple side. Medium to slightly light body, a few off metallic grainy notes here and there. ABC Liquors, Bull Run.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served an amber color with a little bit of an orange hue. Upon serving there is a one finger white head. The head persists for quite some time, eventually fading away to leave a decent level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is very malty and grainy smelling overall with just some lighter hints of sweetness. A lightly roasted malt aroma creates the base of the aroma with some smells of biscuit and a grainy bready smell mixed within. A light caramel and spice aroma are there as well, giving it a slightly drier Oktoberfest aroma overall.
Taste –The taste, as one may expect from the nose, is a bit on the drier and maltier side. It begins with a little bit of caramel sweetness mixed with a nice roasted malt and crackery flavored base. As the flavor advances, the caramel fades while some spice flavors of some nutmeg coming to the tongue. The roasted flavors increase to some extent with a little bit of some other lightly sweetened fruit flavors of apple and pear mixing in. In the end, a grassy and herbal hop flavor develop giving it just the right hint of bitterness to create an overall roasty and still moderately drier malty flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is average in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average. Both are appropriate for the style and make for a rather easy drinking Oktoberfest.
Overall – A rather decent Oktoberfest overall. A little more on the maltier side with a decent balance of spice and roast to create an enjoyable beer overall.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear and slightly thin looking light copper body with a minimal fizzy off-white head. The nose is slightly sweet with a toasty and slightly nutty maltiness. There’s a slight chemical like note in here that I can’t quite identify, maybe it’s just an odd spin off from the hop bill though. The flavor is a little bit on the thinner side, but it’s pretty smooth and fairly well lagered. Finishes with some caramel and light roast with some minimal bitterness. Light bodied and a little thin with soft fizzy carbonation. Not bad, I could have a few of these before they get old.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Drought. Slightly hazy amber color with creamy beige head, very little doughy aroma hint of nutmeg, low carbonation, sweetish taste, abrupt finish. Nice but not remarkable for me.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. This bottle is a little old which is a caveat on this rating. The aroma is very faintly of malts and caramel. The appearance is golden caramel with a very thin head on the pour. The taste is all malt a faint metallic finish. It is a little thin on the palette for the style. Overall a middling Marzen at best.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Strong aroma is crisp and malty with a fruity undertone, mainly apple plus some pear. Pours a clear, bubbly amber with a thick, fluffy ivory head. Malty flavor has hoppy and fruity hints, typical but still pleasing. Smooth texture has a fair amount of tingle and firmness. Prost!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a translucent gold with a thin, white head that quickly fades. Weak lacing. Subtly sweet aroma. Lightly effervescent mouthfeel. Unobtrusive, bordering on weak, flavor. Neither offensive nor memorable.
