Funknmilla (489), Absecon, New Jersey, USA Apr 23, 2008 12 oz bottle....not much head-light beige...golden orange body with a touch of cloudiness...smells of fresh clean malts and yeast...body is watery and light, a sour malt presence, but easy to drink....a smidgen of bitter throughout...nothing special...although its well balanced
cking (712), North Canton, Ohio, USA Jun 16, 2008 The flagship beer from Penn Brewery, and it’s a remarkable Pilsner. This one is done right and would find a regular home in my fridge if it were more available. Powerful hop nose providing a spicy/peppery aroma from an abundance of noble hops. Hints of bread and caramel also come into play. A sparking rich copper color with a fluffy, lasting head and very thick lacing. Good bitterness atop a fresh filling malty body. Clean, crisp and delightful on the palate. Flavors of sweet baked bread, nuts, hay. Plenty of floral and spicy hop notes with a slight hint of citrus. There is plenty of depth found in this great beer, top notch and surprisingly delicious. DandyWolfFloyd (200), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 2, 2008 Aroma is standard hop and malts, typical of this style. It’s a nice golden color with a nice white head. It tastes nice and hopped, with mild hoppieness, and rich medium dark malt. It’s very smooth. A nice session Odyn (130), USA May 25, 2008 another one that I had at the ballpark at the Pirates game. Beautiful color with no noticeable aroma and slight bit of hops in the flavor to offset the slight malt. Guinness4Duff (429), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA May 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold color with a decent white head. Scent is of light malt and some spice. Flavor is nicely balanced, malty sweetness with a nice mellow hop touch. Not bad jstraw (415), Oak Park, Illinois, USA May 4, 2008 Copper-gold with fair, white head / Nose of grain and honey / Light, high carbonation, watery, with decent, bitter finish / Flavors of grain with hint of honey, and with enjoyable, bitter finish / A little weak and lacking in Vienna character.
