22 oz. Bottle. Not much different than the regular version other than a bit more honey and caramel flavor with a touch of bubblegum. The low point was almost no head on a vigorous pour. Otherwise, solid on all accounts.

Bomber thanks to Dan. Pours a near black color with a medium tan head. A big malty nose with dark fruit and light caramel and tobacco. The flavor is toffee, warmth, plum, caramel, brown sugar, sweeter sugars, light tobacco and raisin. Very good.

Dark mahogany pour under a tan head that coats the glass as it dissipates.
It has a light aroma of sweet malt.
there is more to the flavor than the aroma let on.Sweet malt, nice nutty sweetness, good full body too.
Worth trying if you like Doppelbocks.
3.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 JonR (30) - - APR 13, 2012
Nice poor, not a ton of head, aroma lacking a bit, the first taste is absolutely delicious. Settling into the beer a bit, roasted coffee and caramel taste, a bit more carbination then your typical bock. Not necesarrily a winter beer, name is deceiving, but good when you are looking for a solid dark bock.

Decent aroma with a hit of caramel. A nice deep murky brown pour with an off white head. Tasted of caramel with a hint of fruit. A nice beer..

From notes. First reviewed 6/18/2010. Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a pilsener glass. Batch #2.
St. Nikolaus pours a mahogany brown color with tint of ruby on the edge of the glass. A fluffy off-white head forms on pouring and exhibits decent retention. Nice lace sticks on the glass.
Soft molasses, oak, and a variety of spices are present on the nose.
The taste starts out a bit sweet, with some molasses covering nicely over a slight alcohol bite. Cinnamon and cloves sneak in, and the end is sort of drawn out with more sweetness. A bit of oak is also present.
Creamy, although the overall level of carbonation is not extremely high. A bit sticky after each sip, and some hop oil remains after most of the hops have disappeared from the taste.
Overall, I thought this was quite a drinkable brew, although I would be curious to see how the spices tasted when it was first brewed.

It comes in a bag. In a green bottle. 2007 version. I suck for not drinking this sooner. Caramel and molasses and old beer. Gross I’m done. Fish sauce is not what I like in a beer. Blah.

Dark brown color with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of molasses, caramel, and dark fruit. Lots of dark fruit flavor with molasses, and caramel with a hint of alcohol burn. Rich and creamy body. Very good beer.
