Naka (415), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA May 4, 2008 Picked this up at Six N Save in New Ken. Pours brown/black with a slight reddish hue if you can see through it. A foamy light beige head with a little lacing. The aroma is some roasted malts with a little bit of alcohol. A little molasses and spice as well. The overall flavor has a lot of roasted notes. There is some black coffee and molasses with a fruity background to it. A decent full body that leaves a little bit of roasty flavor on the tongue.
LooseCannon (660), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Aug 28, 2008 750ml bottle, Batch 001. Pours reddish copper in color with thin brown head. Aroma malty and roasted notes. Taste of malt and roasted nuts with dry finish. Sammy (3072), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 23, 2008 A lovely drinking bock, and happy for me I found it at StateLine Liquors. Pours dark, not overly foamy. Malty yet not too sweet.A tad of sourness. Balance, above average mouthfeel. Great after dinner digestive. Spot on. MrBunn (849), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 30, 2008 750 ml bottle in a fancy red bag and all... (Batch 1). Pour is a dark brown, but as I’m pouring it looks like it has an almost pink color to it... Head is fairly substantial. Aromas are dusty grains. Flavor is almost completely malt and roast... with a little hint of alcohol and some nuttiness in the aftertaste. This makes this a fairly simple, yet decent brew. mcbackus (638), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Jul 28, 2008 bottle batch #1: pours a good dark caramelly coulor with a good sized tan head. aroma is full of raosted grains adn s small amount of chocolate great toffee.
