Pours a deep amber brown. Slight chocolaty aroma. I was convinced to get this by a salesman at a 6 pack shop. I wish they had Penn Dark instead.

Draft at brewery, black pour, off white 1 inch head, good lacing throughout the drink. Not particular balanced, but nothing off the taste here either. Medium bodied, decent CO2, malty flavor. Good clean, crisp winter flavoring.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Overdone tastes of sweetness and caramel, with a built-in spiciness that is objectionable. There might be a reason this only appears once a year.

Huge thanks yet again to G311 for sending this to me just because he could. I owe you, sire. Currently the #1 Bock. After having it, I concur that it deserves the title. Served in a wine glass.
Pours a clear tawny-brown color with an average, creamy tan head with good spotty lacing as it moves down the glass. The nose carries through some heavy malt character. Brown sugar, caramel, chocolate, molasses, toast, and a hint of a nutty character come through. The flavor hits hard on the brown sugar and molasses plus some bread. Light hop presence in the background. Flavor is moderately sweet and has an average length through the finish. Lit bitterness. Smooth and creamy medium body with light carbonation. Really a fantastic version of the style. Thanks again, Vince!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: poured in to a snifter from the tap. A thin off-white head that hangs on for a long time with great lacing. Light ruby/amber color.
S: aromas of fall fruits, apples, figs, with a hint of pear and spices.
T: tastes of complex malts, very satisfying. Almost no traces of hops at first, but a slight amount comes out in the finish.
M: leaves the mouth feeling warm and moist. Attacks the back of the palate.
D: very drinkable, mostly for the season obviously. Not outstanding, but it is a solid winter bock, that doesn’t disappoint.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a brownish purplely color, a little transparent, with a nice amount of froathy tan head. Aroma is very very sweet and malty, I would say almost a sweet raisin smell. Taste is very very sweet and malty with some spiciness and gingerbread taste. Some alcohol flavor. Very heavy on the palate. Overall, a good winter warmer, but not something I could take a lot of due to the sweetness.

Aroma is sweeter than I imagined. Taste follows with a slight amount of roasted chocolate with medium bitterness. Overall not impressive, but not terrible.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Best bock around as far as I’m concerned. Good appearance: dark enough to not see through, good head and retention, not a whole lot of lacing. Smell is weak, but good.
Taste is great. Awesome dark caramel flavors.
Good mouthfeel, everything in order. Could drink these all night as well.

Pours a clear amber with a big head nice lacing possibly a little overcarbonated... Very malt forward aroma with a decent amount of sweetness... Nice flavor, some subtle spice, possibly clove, nice malty bock flavor, no real hoppiness, a little toasty... Somewhat creamy body, dry lingering finish... Nice dunkel bock
