COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Until the 19th century, St. Nikolaus was a tall, stern, patriarch in bishop’s robes. Then he became a sky-riding, jolly old elf. He may be a milk-and-cookies kind of guy today, but he knows what you want and it’s this St. Nikolaus Bock Bier. It’s rich, dark and full-bodied, brewed with a variety of roasted and chocolate malts. Celebrate the holidays with St. Nikolaus. He’s in this bottle. Gee, we hope you’ve been good this year. 15°

Received as an extra but forgot who from. Anyways it was much appreciated! Pours brown with a nice light brown head that fades to a layer of foam. Aromas of caramel, toasty malts and brown sugar. Flavor is a good balance of light toasty malt, with some brown sugar and a little bit of roast. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. Nice and pleasant beer.

355ml bottle [Thanks to St. Penn David!]. Clear, dark brown colour with ruby red glimmer and small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Dark malty aroma with a nuttily touch, hints of chocolate, minimally grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, chocolately, fruity hints of red berries, a nuttily touch, bitter, minimally soapy hoppy overtones with hints of hay and grass. Solid.

Enjoyable bock bear. Easy to drink though nice chocolate note. Declares itself as a lager but has nice body.

12 ounce bottle poured into a lager glass. The beer is a clear brown with no head, except for a few bubbles around the edge of the glass. The aroma has raisin, caramel, toffee, chocolate. The taste is moderately sweet, it has some bitterness toward the backend. Light to medium body and low to moderate carbonation.

Draft at Bierstube. Hazy very dark copper brown pour. Frothy tan head. Has a full body and the proper flavors for a Christmas brew but feels WAY too mild. Raisin prune spice cake. A chunky faint brown sugar ghost of a better beer. Suspect there are oatmeal stout elements here that fill the palate yet hide the flavors.

Ruby - brown pour. Christmas spices in the nose, malt, yeast, alcohol on the tongue. Not overly Christmas but a good seasonal.

Tap at rattle as I continue style chasing. Faint reddish brown pour. Sudsy head. Nose is malt and caramel. Tastes of toasted malt, red fruit, caramel, light earth. Semi sweet and sticky palate.
