COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Authentic wheat beer, brewed in the Southern German tradition, won the Silver Medal in 1997 and the Gold Medal at the 2000 in GABF.. Penn Weizen is top-fermented, cask-conditioned, and very effervescent with a slight hint of tangy clove flavor.

pours slightly cloudy with a nice lacy head. smell is overwhelming of apples and pears. taste is mildly yeasty at first, but finishes with a light spiceness and a quick hit of bitter floral and citrus. a nice variation on the hefe.

bottle. pretty good hefeweizen... pours a murky golden with a little head. aromas and flavors of banana, citrus and spice. smooth over the palate with a bit of bitterness on the finish. not bad.

BOTM, Cloudy yellow, a plop of yeast that came out of the bottom of the bottle caused it to be very cloudy. thin white head that lasted a while. Crisp mouth feel. KI didn’t get the banana that every once else did, but coincidentally I had eaten a banana for lunch not 20 minutes earlier. Who knows! All in all a decent brew.

Pretty good attempt. Nice mild flavor you’d expect. Very nice aroma of spice and banana. Pretty pour, very cloudy pale yellow. Nice summer beer.

Golden......very hazy......opaque. Soft white head. Slightly spicy aroma, with a generous hint of clove. Mellow wheat malt taste in the front......very crisp mouthfeel. Finishes spicy, with a slight tartness.

Starts as banana and bubblegum and end as band-aid. Snoopy yellow with cloudy complexion. Was pleasantly surprised because the lable screamed mediocre. Another BOMC that I’d drink if I stumbled upon in a saloon in PA (which could happen).

12oz bottle poured into a weizen glass. PW pours very cloudy and a dull golden color. It has an aroma of yeast, grass and lemon that portends greatness. The flavor is strong and delicious. This is a wonderful copy of authentic German hefeweizens. There is a lot of yeasty banana bread and a touch of lemon and orange along with substantial clove. This is one of the better beers I’ve had in a while. The finish is quick and dry.

Bottle. Solid Weizen in the classic bavarian style. Pours with a hazy color. Quite strong aromas of banana and bubblegum. Nice flavors of wheat, bread and banana with some lemon and ornage notes. Very nice body and a very nice hefeweizen
