mctous (119), Herndon, Virginia, USA Mar 2, 2007 Penn Weizen deeply reflects the Bavarian wheat beer tradition, is very authentic, and is very well made. It only lacks the last bit of complexity the best German examples provide. I only wish I would’ve tried this sooner! gsmitty80 (628), Washington DC, USA Jan 12, 2007 Traditional German Hefeweizen that is very good but doesnt boast any special charachteristics. Decent head and good lacing makes its appearance better than its flavor. scottallan (10), USA Jan 2, 2007 Draft at the brewery in Pittsburgh, Great flavor. I typically like wheat beers, but this one stands out. Pleasing gold color with an off-white head. Flavor was good throughout. Definitely complimented the meal. Tessic (439), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Dec 30, 2006 This weizen poured a clear yellow with a bright white head. Scents include the usual weiner/bologna scent that usually comes from these kinds of beer. Along with that a little citrus and a small amount of spice. First taste was extremely carbonated with the flavours of weiners. Full blown flavour of yeast though. Yeasty flavour carries right on through the palate to the end. MattShizzle (385), Bernville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 6, 2006 Bottle - from sampler pack. Very cloudy and high carbonation. OK. No weizen flavor, but wheat taste there. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 27, 2006 GBof A PA-on tap-pours an off white head and cloudy straw/yellow color.
