3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Suttree (3765) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 15, 2007
Nicely cloudy orange, decent sized white head. Nice banana and clove aroma, mixed with some pineapple, too. Very "Wheaty" flavor. Pretty much delivers what it promises here. Solid, no surprises. Tasty.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kmweaver (3025) - Santa Rosa, California, USA - JUL 9, 2007
12oz bottle. Pours a clear, medium orange-golden color; enormous, off-white head with web-like lacing. Some cloves and doughy notes in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: cloves and a light ester presence upfront; average carbonation; slightly fluffy and uninspired in the mouth. Tastes kind of one-dimensional after the Wagner Valley Summer Sail. Medium, dry citrus and doughy finish.

Draught. Pours a cloudy golden orange body with nice head. Aroma is of spices, light citrus, bananas. Flavor is the same as above mentioned aroma. Nice blend of spices added with out being over done. I enjoyed the smoothness of this beer.

Draft at Coney. Nice murky gold/amber color. Creamy white head, quickly disapating. Nice sweet, banana nose. Good crisp malt flavor with banana and clove, subtle and tasty. Nice crisp finish.

Aroma is lemon and raisin. Semi-clear amber color with no head. Lemon and grain flavor, unremarkable. Crisp, abrupt finish. Nothing very impressive about this beer, but it’s enjoyable.

Highly carbonated. I opened the bottle and had to wait for the head to settle. The flavor was enjoyable. Not my favorite wheat beer, but still recommendable.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2009 Hazy gold color, fast fading head (especially for a hefeweizen). Minimal amount of bubbles. Tasty aroma of lemon, honey, and orange, no hint of hops in the aroma. Tangy orange flavor overrides the smooth wheat. It is very citrus dominated like spiked grapefruit juice. The palate is very smoothe and easy. This beer reminds me of the highly regarded hitacho from Japan but the price is much more economical. This is a great choice in the hefe class
