COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Authentic wheat beer, brewed in the Southern German tradition, won the Silver Medal in 1997 and the Gold Medal at the 2000 in GABF.. Penn Weizen is top-fermented, cask-conditioned, and very effervescent with a slight hint of tangy clove flavor.

A nice cloudy golden color, with good carbonation. Clove aromas. Flavor is more clove and less citrus and banana. Little sweet biscuit. More fizzy than I am used to. Finish is a little flat.

Draft @ Anthony’s Micro Pub and Pizza, Harrisburg, PA. Pours a hazy yellow color with a small white head. Has a fruity wheat malty banana aroma. Sweetish wheat malty spicy banana flavor. Has a sweetish wheat malty banana finish.

Draft at the brewery. A great surprise! Poured a cloudy, unfiltered yellow orange with a lovely white head. Aromas of grass, citrus and some floral hops component. Flavor profile followed closely with loads of citrus. Palate was lovely, great carbonation and very quenching. The greatest flaw, in my opinion, is that it struck me much more as an american weizen than a true hefeweizen. It just was simply too clean in profile, nothing herbal, cloyin, dirty or grassy about it.

Bottle, slmost no head whatsoever, murky light orange colour, aroma of bubblegum, candy and some spicey touches, almondy flavour with bubblegum and some fruitiness, pleasant sour fruity aftertaste. Nice true to the style weizen.

Pours hazy gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Sour wheat aromas. Sweet wheat upfront before the lasting slight lemon finish.

No head or lace. Awesome hazy, un-filtered gold color. Loads of bubblegum and fruit nose. Smells great and the taste follows exactly what a hefeweizen should be. Light carbonation and had a bit of tart finish. Very nicely done hefe and would drink anytime. Very strong effort from an American brewer of a fine German style.

Bottle from Cavie. Opaque yellow pour with a small white head. Aroma is weak banana and a little spicy yeast. Taste is lots of spice, yeast, banana, clove, and orange.

Bottle from ups. Pours a murky yellow orange color. Foamy white head. Aroma is spicy clove with a little fruit. Sweet smelling for the most part. Flavor is fish heads and mercury. What the hell, the first sip was nasty! Some fruit is there. Not much.
