Grandpa (325), Verona, New York, USA Feb 24, 2009 Pale yellow with a big white head. very cloudy, and yet left no sediment in the glass. Most of the head disappeared before the first sip. It was light, refreshing and left no aftertaste. Bland, even for a weizen dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Feb 6, 2009 A bit of a citrusy aroma. Nice cloudy orange-yellow with a good head. This is pretty decent. Light, a small tang to it. Not real wheaty in flavor. A simple but good hefe. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Jan 13, 2009 Bottled. Heavily carbonated, sweet and grainy nose, heavily estery; orange peel, wheat, minerals, and stale air (yeast?). Bright yellow pour, hazy with a huge soapy white head. Full-bodied and sharp, tough to get very far without grimacing at stung teeth or insulted tongue (my face must have looked rather funny!). Nasty metallic-acidic tang, there is a nice bit of clove but it’s swallowed up by the sledgehammer uglies. Rciesla (3515), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Dec 31, 2008 Bottle. Pours a golden orange body with a white head. Nose is a fruity with coriander, lemon, and berries. Light zest but im hating the finish on this one. theisti (1640), Leawood, Kansas, USA Dec 7, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of eaglefan538. Pour is hazed white golden with an out of control fizzy white head. 5 inches at least in my .4 L Kulmbacher glass. Head falls fast with loud crackling - this may be the loudest beer I have encountered. Aroma of earthy hay banana esthers and cloves. Full nose, quite pungent. Taste is big wheat, citric and earthy. Lemon tart citrus sweetness present, even a touch of smokiness. As the beer warms, the lemon really becomes dominant. Palate is medium to full bodied, dense flavors, yet still manages to be slick and drinkable. Interesting palate. Good beer, quite a lot going on, though it is a touch unrefined in its transitions between flavors. Thanks for sending this to me Brian. michael-pollack (2606), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 27, 2008 12oz. Bottle: Aroma of wheat, cloves, spices, herbs, lots of yeast, and slight banana. Poured deep yellow/gold in color with a huge, foamy, fizzy, creamy, white head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Very sparkling. Full of particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of cloves, yeast, spices, herbs, and vegetables. Light body. Fizzy, chalky texture. Lively carbonation. Yeasty, vegetable finish is dry. Flavor is rather foul. blipp (1632), Newark, New Jersey, USA Nov 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours cloudy gold with sinking sediment. Wheaty aroma with fruity esters and light spices. The flavor has banana like fruit, lemon, wheat, and light spices. Decent. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA Nov 1, 2008 I don’t know about German hefe but this one sorta works. Bit of citrus in the aroma. The flavor has spicy hops and a bit of lemon. Very fizzy. Drinkable.
