| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2008 A fairly standard, albeit good, Wheat.
The pour is a hazy yellow gold with a smallish head. Aroma is very typical of a wheat--lots of banana and clove/spice with just a bit of citrus, possibly grapefruit.
In terms of taste, its much like the aroma. The citrus fades almost completely away, and the banana/clove presence is joined by a pleasant yeasty, breadiness. Mouth feel is iffy, good carbonation but feels a bit sticky on the palate, though.
Overall, not a bad wheat. It’s fairly typical for its kind, being simple, bready, refreshing but (for me, at least) missing that extra "something." I’m growing more and more fond of the wheat category, and this is would be one of the genre I’d gladly buy again. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Pours a slightly foggy amber gold with a minimal white head that does not stay long at all. This is the funkiest nose I have gotten in a long time for an American production (as far as hefeweizens go). Thick bananas and a fair amount of yeasty funk on the nose too. Flavor is pretty robust and deep. But it seems to be just a bit short of what I expect the style to bring. Seems a bit too leafy. But still it is decent. Feel is a fairly full carbonation. Liquid is okay. Seems a bit slimy, if that makes some sense to ya. Overall it is easily drinkable. I might be interested in trying this on tap. alexanderj (2233), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 31, 2008 Bottle; poured a clear gold with only a small head. Aroma of banana, spice and yeast. Flavor was not as good as the aroma. Alot of wheat, not much banana or spice. Poor palate. Maybe I should have had this when it was warmer out; however, I was still disappointed overall with it. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 30, 2008 May 2006 - Egads, reading the other reviews, what is wrong with my beer? Beer poured CRYSTAL CLEAR golden yellow with no head even with a vigorous pour. Aroma was floral and citusy. The flavor was overwhelmingly lemony. I was taken aback it was so lemony. Mouthfeel was syrupy but not thick (if that makes sense), but that just made the lemon cling more to my tongue, which was not desirable. Some bananas and other spices in there, but lost amongst the lemons. Little wheaty taste. This was honestly just deity-awful. I was looking forward to trying this for a while, too. Hopefully, I can pawn my other bottle off on someone, cuz there is no way I’m drinking it. markwise (1175), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 21, 2008 It is a pretty good beer. Pours a golden color with a minimal bone-white head. At first sip there is distinct orange and citrrus presence and a bit of clove flavor to it towards around the swallow. Would definately buy again. mcbackus (740), Merritt Island, Florida, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Bottle. My return to PA is unspectacular to date, and this golden pour with some haze and a little bit of a head leaves me little hope. Aromas are fairly sweet... honey, bread dough, lemon and maybe some yeast and cloves. Flavor is better than expected. I found a bit of a banana/clove presence that serves as a background to a bit of citrus and some coriander. This is pulled off fairly well, and I like this beer, but won’t be buying any cases anytime soon... still, I would buy this again. Beerlando (2313), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Draft at Wildside BBQ. Pours a cloudy, glowing orange-amber body with a large, foamy, snow-white head. The head shows excellent retention and leaves nice, random snakes of lacing behind on the glass. Aromas include banana, orange, bready yeast, and coriander. The flavor follows suit exactly, though the citrus sweetness is kicked up a few notches. The body is on the lighter side of medium, with a somewhat sticky, syrupy consistency. Goes down smooth, but sits a little heavy due to the sweetness. Pretty straightforward, decent-at-best brew. Nothing special here.
