COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schwarzbier (shvahrts-beer) is German for "black-beer". Brewed to be a light bodied dark beer with a clean, crisp, refreshing finish. Its well balanced malt character is complimented with a touch of roastiness. Brewed using imported black patent malt and noble hops. Pairs with chunky dark breads, marinated meats such as brisket or German Sauerbraten. Not recommended for cellaring. Serve in a flute or pilsner glass at 45-50deg

From mcox90 via trade. Poured super dark brown, kind of black. The head was short and tan with spotty lacing. The aroma was a nice blend of smoky malts and some brown sugar sweetness. The flavor was fairly sweet, with a nice but not overpowering compliment of smoke on the backside. The mouthfeel was almost medium in body and it finished clean. Enjoyable. Sad to see they’re closed.

Dark roasted brew. Aroma of roasted nuts, coffee, roasted malt. Taste is very nutty, smoky roasted coffee.

Deep brown pour with a frothy tan head. Aroma is heavy chocolate and coffee. Just a tiny bit of smoke comes through when first tasting and the coffee flavor dominates. Roasted malty and nutty middle. Smoke comes out again in the finish and it lingers for a bit. Great beer for the style.

(Bottle). Somewhat sweet roasty fruit aroma, and coffee notes. Deep reddish black body, brown head. Refreshing roasted malt flavor, slightly sweet. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, and there’s not much of a finish. But certainly pleasing.

Black with a light brown head. Aroma is malts, with a little coffee and some light smokiness. Flavor is light, mainly a little sweet and sour malt with some hop presence in the finish. Overall, it’s a pleasant refreshing beer. Like most schwarzbier’s flavor without being too heavy for those who don’t like stouts and porters.

Bomber. Pours nearly opaque, and leaves some lacing behind in the glass. It’s a bit thin in the body, and maybe a little watery. Lager carbonation level affects the taste. Very faint chocolate malt notes. More treble than bass. Not as good as it looks.

Bottle from Village Beer Merchant in Buffalo. Poured a deep dark almost opaque brown with a medium frothy beige head. Nice sweet caramel malty aroma. Flavor had a great balance of sweetness and dry roasted malty notes to finish. Good drinkable random pickup from NH.

Bottle thanks to Beastiefan2k. Thin dark brown pour with no head. Wood on the nose with some bread and dark malts. The flavor brings the dark malt out more and mixes with some cocoa and dried fruit.
