dark woody brown pour with a lasting hot cocoa colored head.
big whiff of cocoa puffs followed by more chocolate, nutty caramel, earthy woody notes and possibly some coffee.
mix molasses to those characteristics and you get the flavor.
the body is thicker/richer than i’m used to in a schwarz but it gives it some depth... neat. 7/4/7/4/16/3.8

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 beerbill (3044) - Laurel, New York, USA - JAN 10, 2010
22 oz. bottle. Pours a very dark brown, just about black, with a moderate cream colored head that lasted until mid-glass and left a film with each sip. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt, cocoa and just a hint of smokiness. The flavor has more roasted malt and a bit less cocoa than the aroma, along with some mild smoke. The flavors compliment one another quite well. Nice body without being heavy. Goes down way too easily. Enjoyable.
