COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schwarzbier (shvahrts-beer) is German for "black-beer". Brewed to be a light bodied dark beer with a clean, crisp, refreshing finish. Its well balanced malt character is complimented with a touch of roastiness. Brewed using imported black patent malt and noble hops. Pairs with chunky dark breads, marinated meats such as brisket or German Sauerbraten. Not recommended for cellaring. Serve in a flute or pilsner glass at 45-50deg

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle. Very thin caramel color brown pour to a hollow black body. Cinnamon sugar, honey, root beer candies, and licorice aroma. Sugary, and sticky. Similar, syrupy root beer candy flavor; some peppery earthy bitterness, maple syrup. Chewy medium roasted coffee, some chocolate, black licorice; flavor profile is basic, but built well. Medium palate; soft and oily. Finishes with lengthy cola-like residual sugars. Pleasant stuff. Thanks Aaron!

Pours a three-fingered light brown head that fades quickly to a thin layer leaving a good lace. Deep mahogany almost black color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Roasted chocolate nose. Flavor is roasted chocolate and balanced. $7.99 for a 22 oz bottle from Capital Convenience Concord, NH.

From a bottle poured brown/black with a good amount of head. Nice dark malty flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

22 oz bottle courtesy of mcox90. Pour is deep black with ruby highlights with great settling and a pretty 1 inch tan head. Aroma of not much really, some faint roasted maltiness. Taste reveals more character than the nose - the roasty-smoky malt and some prune fruitiness. Finish has some hay and grass. Palate thinnish, drying. Super easy drinking beer I could drink a million of these in a session. Thanks Michael.

Bomber shared by theisti. Pour a sort of Coke brown with a tan head. Sort of a pilsner aroma with touches of roast and some herbal hops. The flavor is light, but shows off some chocolate flavors and good roasted notes. Medium body with a ashy dry finish. High carbonation. Really an ejoyable beer. Very sessionable. Thanks Tim.

Pours a mostly opaque dark mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of sweet toasty dark caramel and roasted malt with a touch of noble hops and dark chocolate. Body starts fairly full and semi-sweet with a good roasty dark malty flavor balanced with subtle bittering hops before a drier, smooth finish. Pretty true to style and very drinkable.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2009 Bottle (22oz). Shared by blankboy with me, garthicus and GregClow. Deep clear ruby with a smallish fizzy-creamy tan head. Oily, roasty malt aroma, hints of light peat and/or smoke, quite nutty. The taste - lovely - smooth and somewhat light, but a terrific balance of dry smoke, light creamy/minty bitterness and tame near-burnt roast malt. Average of body, slick, only mildly carbonated, with a whisper of astringency from the smokiness - only a medium-length finish to this one, but overall a solid, solid effort, very drinkable.

My bottle (650ml) shared with GregClow, HogTownHarry & garthicus. Pours a very deep ruby-brown with a small diminishing tan head. Aroma of smoked meat, roasted malt and a hint of chocolate. Nice creamy, malty and smoky flavour with a light roasty bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Quite good, I really liked it.
